Speaking at the opening of the program, Dr. Dieu Thi Lan Phuong - Vice Principal of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities read the letter from the President on the occasion of the opening day of the 2023-2024 school year.
At the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Principal of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities delivered a speech welcoming the new school year, while emphasizing, praising and rewarding individuals and groups with outstanding achievements and winning prizes in national and international competitions. Most recently, 13 students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities participated in a cultural and academic exchange program at the National Junior College (NJC - Singapore), and excelled over 33 research groups from 14 schools, to win the First and Third Prizes for outstanding research. Many students of the High School for the Gifted have excelled in winning prestigious scholarships from foreign universities. At the same time, many students have also excelled in passing strict selection rounds and become students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as well as many prestigious universities in the country. This is the basis for the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities to continue to innovate and develop, constantly improve training quality, and be worthy of being the leading training and research institution in Vietnam in social sciences and humanities.

Also in the joyful atmosphere before the new school year, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, sent her congratulations and acknowledged the achievements and efforts of the High School for Gifted Students in the past school year. Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong shared: Social sciences and humanities is the science of human development, social development, and cultural development. Social sciences and humanities contribute to creating a new system of values for Vietnamese people, both promoting the traditions and quintessence of national culture and adapting to the new industrial revolution era, in the period of international integration and rapid socio-economic development. Training at the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities is based on personality, emotions, and aesthetics, with human development as the key focus. The school has identified a comprehensive training strategy, with the main goal of enhancing teaching, training ethics, personality, and human qualities, and training talented people with full knowledge, skills, dreams, passion, and ambitions. At this school, students are not only trained comprehensively and in-depth, acquiring liberal education thinking, but also enjoying the special training regulations of Hanoi National University.
Students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities are not only given priority for admission and direct admission to university at VNU, but also, starting from the second semester of grade 11, they accumulate a number of university credits in advance, and when admitted to university at VNU, they are exempted from a number of special credits they have studied in advanced high school. This is an important policy of VNU, creating conditions for students to shorten their university study time, to foster and nurture more talented young people in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities.
