Attending the awarding ceremony for 20 new PhDs and 234 new Masters were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Party Secretary, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Rector of the University); leaders and lecturers of affiliated faculties/institutes/departments; and many relatives, friends and colleagues of the new PhDs and Masters to share joy and congratulate.
Postgraduate training at VNU-USSH: taking quality as philosophy and goal
Speaking at the Graduation Ceremony, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the school and the Board of Directors of all affiliated Institutes, Faculties and Departments, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan sent his warmest congratulations to all the new Doctors and Masters who have completed the arduous and challenging journey of study to achieve today's success. In particular, in the recent period, the Covid epidemic has severely affected all aspects of social life, at times all activities have almost come to a standstill. In such extremely difficult and dangerous circumstances, the students and PhD students not only arranged their family and office work; with the companionship and support of the instructors, they were ready to go to the localities to collect documents and field materials to complete their theses and dissertations. Therefore, today's results are even more meaningful and valuable.
In the extremely difficult context of postgraduate training enrollment, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities still recruited enough and exceeded the quota assigned by VNU, while still persisting in the "Philosophy of taking quality as the guiding principle for all training and scientific research activities". The success of the new PhDs and Masters today is a source of pride and affirms the University's commitment to the whole society that the University always maintains and continuously improves the quality of training.
Principal Hoang Anh Tuan also expressed his deep gratitude to the companionship of the leaders of faculties/institutes/departments; the dedicated guidance of the team of lecturers and scientists; the facilitation and full support from the families and agencies where the PhD students and trainees are working.
At the end of his speech, President Hoang Anh Tuan sent a message to all new PhDs and Masters: “In 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will celebrate its 80th anniversary and 30th founding anniversary. In that proud 80-year journey, there have been enormous contributions from learners at all levels, alumni, and former students. To continue that glorious tradition, and at the same time affirm the brand and position of Hanoi Humanities domestically and internationally, the University always warmly welcomes new PhDs and Masters to return to continue their studies at higher levels and participate in the training and scientific research of the University.”
Becoming a new Doctor or Master of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a source of pride and the first step for the next stage of development.
Representing the new PhDs and Masters attending the graduation ceremony, new PhD Nguyen Phuong Anh, majoring in Social Work, Faculty of Sociology, expressed her deep gratitude to the School's Board of Directors, the Institutes, Faculties, Departments, and instructors who have always accompanied, encouraged, and motivated students and PhD students throughout their studies and scientific research at the School. The new PhD emotionally shared: “We come from many localities across the country, some of us have traveled thousands of kilometers to study in Hanoi, some of us have come from other countries. There were times when we faced many difficulties and challenges in life, especially during the extremely stressful Covid-19 pandemic, many of us thought about stopping and giving up our passion for studying and researching. And at that time, we always received companionship, support, and sharing from the School, our teachers; love and encouragement from our families, friends, agencies, colleagues, etc. Today, we are extremely proud and happy to be standing here, in this solemn and extremely cozy hall to receive our Doctorate and Master's degrees from the most prestigious school.
We are always aware that this is the sweet result of a long journey of striving, but it is not the end but a big turning point, the beginning of a new journey with knowledge, courage, and new position, promising more brilliant successes in studying and working. With in-depth, systematic knowledge; independent research and working capacity; courage and moral qualities cultivated at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, we are confident enough to complete our work well, contributing more to the community and society.
Dr. Nguyen Phuong Anh, on behalf of the new Doctors and Masters, sent a bouquet of fresh flowers as a deep gratitude to the School Board of Directors, teachers and staff of functional departments.
Also at the Graduation Ceremony, the School Board of Directors awarded certificates of merit to new PhDs and new Masters with excellent academic and research achievements.
