Speaking at the graduation ceremony, on behalf of the school's Board of Directors and the leadership of all affiliated Institutes, Faculties, and Departments, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan extended his warmest congratulations to all the new PhD and Master's graduates who have completed their arduous and challenging academic journey to achieve success today. In particular, during the recent period, the COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted all aspects of social life, at times almost bringing all activities to a standstill. In those extremely difficult and dangerous circumstances, the students and doctoral candidates not only arranged their family and work schedules but, with the support of their supervising lecturers, readily traveled to various locations to collect materials and conduct fieldwork to complete their theses and dissertations. Therefore, today's results are all the more meaningful and worthy of appreciation.
Despite the extremely challenging conditions in postgraduate recruitment, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities still managed to recruit enough students, exceeding the targets set by Vietnam National University, Hanoi, while consistently adhering to the philosophy of "quality as the guiding principle for all training and scientific research activities." The success of today's new PhD and Master's graduates is a source of pride and affirms the University's commitment to society as a whole to maintaining and continuously improving the quality of education.
Rector Hoang Anh Tuan also expressed his deep gratitude for the companionship of the leaders of the faculties/institutes/departments; the dedicated guidance of the teaching staff and scientists; and the utmost support and assistance from the families and organizations where the doctoral candidates and trainees are working.
Concluding his presentation, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan conveyed a message to all the new PhD and Master's graduates: “In 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will celebrate its 80th anniversary and 30th anniversary. This proud 80-year journey has been marked by the immense contributions of students at all levels, alumni, and former students. To continue this glorious tradition and affirm the brand and position of Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities both domestically and internationally, the University warmly welcomes the new PhD and Master's graduates to return and continue their studies at higher levels and participate in the University's training and scientific research.”
Becoming a new PhD or Master's graduate of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a source of pride and the starting point for the next stage of development.
Representing the newly graduated PhDs and Master's degree holders at the graduation ceremony, PhD holder Nguyen Phuong Anh, majoring in Social Work, Faculty of Sociology, expressed her deep gratitude to the University's leadership, the affiliated Institutes, Faculties, and Departments, and the supervising professors who have always supported, encouraged, and motivated the students and doctoral candidates throughout their studies and scientific research at the University. The newly graduated PhDs emotionally shared: “We come from many different places across the country; some of us traveled thousands of kilometers to Hanoi to study, and some of us came from other countries. There were times when we faced countless difficulties and challenges in life, especially during the extremely stressful Covid-19 pandemic. Many of us even considered giving up our passion for learning and research. At those times, we always received companionship, support, and sharing from the University and our supervising professors; love and encouragement from our families, friends, colleagues, and colleagues… Today, we are incredibly proud and happy to stand here, in this solemn and warm auditorium, to receive our PhD and Master's degrees from this prestigious university.”
We are always aware that this is the sweet result of a long journey of striving, but it is not the end point, but a major turning point, the beginning of a new journey with new knowledge, confidence, and a new position promising even more brilliant successes in our studies and work. With in-depth, systematic knowledge; research and independent work capabilities; and the confidence and moral character cultivated at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, we are confident enough to perform our work well and contribute even more to the community and society.
