This morning, July 20, 2024, the "University and College Admission Application Selection Day 2024" at Hanoi University of Science and Technology attracted thousands of students and parents from many high schools in the northern region, with only 10 days left until the application deadline. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, in collaboration with Tuoi Tre Newspaper, and was attended by various colleges and universities.
At the event, representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, along with representatives from universities across various fields and professions, directly advised candidates on key points to consider during the admissions process and answered questions from candidates and parents. In addition, candidates and parents could find and access admissions information at over 150 booths from universities and colleges. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training)
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) said: "On the very first day the Ministry of Education and Training's system opened, more than 600,000 applications were registered, showing that candidates have a clear understanding of their needs and abilities regarding the majors and training institutions they desire. However, candidates still have 10 days to carefully consider, choose, and arrange their applications."
The Director of the Department of Higher Education also noted: When registering their admission preferences on the Ministry of Education and Training's system, candidates only need to select the major and training program of the school, not the admission method or combination of subjects. This helps them avoid errors in choosing the combination and method of admission. The system will sort and select the best data provided by the candidates to consider their highest possible admission preference, ensuring the rights of the candidates.
Furthermore, when registering their college application preferences, candidates need to follow the entire process from start to finish (both registration and adjustment of preferences, if any). This ensures that the system accurately records their registration data. "Candidates should only adjust their application preferences if there is a misalignment or if they are not in the correct order of priority. They should also carefully review the conditions and information regarding priority areas and priority groups (if any) to make corrections and improvements. In addition, candidates need to keep their system access accounts secure, as disclosure could allow others to adjust or change their application preferences," emphasized Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy.
According to regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, from July 18th to 5 PM on July 30th, candidates can register, adjust, and supplement their admission preferences an unlimited number of times. All candidate preferences are processed on the system, and each candidate will only be admitted to the highest-ranked preference among those registered, provided they meet the admission requirements. Candidates who have completed the application process for universities under the early admission plan, if they meet the admission requirements, must still register their preferences on the system to be considered for admission according to regulations.
