However, when going into actual study, thanks to the guidance, enthusiastic, in-depth instruction from teachers with rich practical experience and good expertise of the Political Science Department,Political ScienceFor young people like me, it becomes attractive and realistic".
Political Science has trained students to become people with knowledge of political reality, skills in thinking, collecting and processing information and political situations, skills in researching, writing, and presenting issues. In addition, Political Science helps students accumulate teamwork skills, management skills as well as communication skills in work relationships in particular and social communication in general.
“These are necessary skills for students to be able to serve their studies as well as anticipate job opportunities.”- Kim Dung emphasized.
Kim Dung also said: "The course "Politics and Policy" is the specialized course that gives me the most satisfaction in Political Science.
Through the course, students are provided with basic understanding of policy, the relationship between politics and policy; grasp the elements that constitute policy, the forms of policy expression, criteria for good policy, the policy making process and policy implementation. From there, students are able to recognize and analyze policies with a political perspective, participate in policy making and present the feasibility of policies.
According toPublic Report 2023 - 2024 School YearAccording to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the employment rate of graduates after 1 year of graduation (survey of graduates in 2022) of the Political Science major is 85.42%.
After graduating, students majoring in Political Science have participated in consulting and advising work in agencies that plan policies and guidelines of the Party and State; and have worked as consultants and advisors in agencies and organizations in the political system and socio-economic organizations.
Many former students are currently doing research work at political theory agencies or are reporters and editors commenting on current events and politics at central and local newspapers and radio stations.
In addition, students after obtaining a degree in Political Science can do research and teach Political Science in the Party school system, universities, colleges, and professional and vocational high schools.
Kim Dung said that after graduating from university, she participated in local youth work and continued to register for a Master's degree in Political Science at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Here, students listened to presentations on the socio-economic situation of Nam Dinh province at Truong Chinh Political School (Nam Dinh province), the reality of the new rural model in Hai Ly commune (Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province), learned about the new rural work of the Fatherland Front of Thai Binh province, and visited historical sites and natural landscapes in the three provinces.
Kim Dung shared that the process of visiting, practicing, and practicing has given her practical knowledge about the grassroots political environment, how to work and operate the local political apparatus effectively, and how to organize, implement, direct, and disseminate Party and State policies at the grassroots level.“These are also valuable experiences that you and your friends need to equip yourself with before working in government agencies after graduation.”- Kim Dung said.
Valedictorian of Political Science shares with students:“After entering university, you must have a plan and goals for yourself to achieve in 4 years of study, from which you can allocate your time scientifically and in a balanced way.
In the first two years, you should not have the mindset of "after passing, you have to relax" because this is the time to study general subjects, which is the foundation for specialized knowledge.
For specialized subjects, you should pay attention to lectures in class, research additional materials related to the major, and have academic exchanges with friends or lecturers.
”.
Kim Dung also shared that students should actively participate in school and class activities, join clubs, as well as scientific research to expand communication and create opportunities for learning and cooperation. In particular, the valedictorian of Political Science advised:“You should try to improve your foreign language skills, because this is not only a tool to communicate with international friends but also creates more job opportunities after graduation.”
