Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung – Head of the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, emphasized:
“We don’t train Hotel Management students just to work at the reception desk or as waiters in hotels. Our goal is to equip them with management thinking, leadership skills, and the ability to organize and develop hotel services in the context of current integration and digital transformation.”The Bachelor of Hotel Management program at the Faculty of Tourism Studies is designed to be integrated, balancing theory and practice, specialized knowledge and modern management skills, with the following core modules:
- Hotel, resort, and accommodation management
- Food and beverage management, catering and event services
- Hotel services business, brand building, customer experience management.
In particular, the program emphasizes foreign language proficiency, technology, and innovation – essential skills in the context of a globalized hospitality industry, aiming for high quality standards and sustainable development. Students are trained in skills such as service data analysis, customer behavior research, hotel operations management, and are introduced to green and smart hotel models – new trends in the hospitality industry.
The training program also emphasizes interdisciplinary elements, equipping students with supplementary knowledge in business administration, psychology, management science, etc., helping them develop in-depth analytical skills and the ability to adapt flexibly in an international and multicultural hotel environment.
Admission score
The Hotel Management major also saw a slight increase in scores, remaining stable at 25.71 - 28.26 points (depending on the admission combination). Maintaining high scores not only reflects the interest of candidates but also demonstrates the prestige of the Faculty and the University in the context of the increasing demand for high-quality human resources in the tourism industry as Vietnam aims to welcome more than 17 million international tourists in 2025.

Internship and practical trainingHotel Management students have the opportunity to visit and learn at famous domestic accommodation facilities and tourist destinations from their first year. Simultaneously, students have the chance to travel abroad through exchange and practical programs in Thailand, China, Japan, Singapore, and other countries. Through each study tour, students experience staying at large hotel chains, learn about hotel organization, operation, and business processes, and gain a better understanding of the actual job positions within these establishments.

A wide network of international cooperationThe Faculty has established cooperative relationships with many prestigious universities such as the University of Toulouse Le Mirial (France), Rikkyo University (Japan), Munich University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Guangxi University, Sun Yat-sen University (China),... through student and faculty exchange programs, international conferences, and joint research projects. This is an important stepping stone to help Tourism students broaden their global horizons, improve their foreign language skills, and enhance their integration capabilities when entering the labor market.

Job opportunities are abundant in many fields.According to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung – Head of the Tourism Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in recent years, the Party and State have paid great attention to tourism development. According to data from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, currently, the number of graduates trained in tourism only meets 50% of the industry's human resource needs, including those with vocational school diplomas. It can be said that tourism has a great need for human resources and offers good job opportunities.
Graduates in Hotel Management can take on a variety of professional and managerial positions in businesses, accommodation establishments, event centers, etc. Some common positions include:
- Reception, reservations, customer service, housekeeping, restaurant staff
- Shift supervisor, managing the front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and hotel sales departments.
