This morning, October 31, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, solemnly held the 3rd Graduation Ceremony of 2025, marking a memorable milestone in the learning, training, and growth journey of more than 330 new graduates, including 314 students from majors 1 and 16 students from majors 2.
When the diplomas were handed out, pride, emotion, and happiness shone on the faces of each student. They not only received the fruits of four years of diligent study, but also marked the end of a special journey – the journey of a generation that entered university during the Covid-19 pandemic, when unprecedented difficulties tested their perseverance and will to learn.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - expressed her emotion and pride: "This moment not only marks the end of a challenging academic journey, but also opens up a new journey before you – a journey of growth, contribution, and self-affirmation in society."
Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized that this is a special cohort of students, starting their university studies amidst a pandemic, without the usual lively orientation days, but instead with online classes via small screens. However, it was precisely in these difficult times that they demonstrated the resilience of a humanities generation—adaptable and creative, knowing how to turn challenges into opportunities, and constantly striving to achieve the proud results they have today.
This year's graduation ceremony is even more meaningful as it coincides with the 80th anniversary of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the 30th anniversary of its founding. Throughout this journey, countless generations of humanities students have contributed to establishing the university's position as a leading training and research center in the field of social sciences and humanities in the country. The success of today's graduating class, as Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong affirmed, is "a valuable contribution to the University's impressive record of achievements in this significant anniversary year."
Honoring outstanding graduating students
A touching moment for newly graduated student Le Thi Quynh Chi (Cultural Studies major) as she receives her bachelor's degree from Ms. Dang Thi Thu Huong.
Representing the graduating class, Hoang Thi Ghi from the Faculty of International Studies emotionally shared her memorable four-year journey: “During the pandemic, our first lecture hall wasn't filled with laughter, but rather silent Zoom windows. At that time, we carried with us bewilderment, anxiety, and a yearning to truly 'live' our university years. The past four years have helped us not only gain knowledge, but also understand what perseverance, empathy, and the courage to dream mean.”
In her emotional speech, Hoang Thi Ghi expressed her gratitude to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – “an academic launching pad, a place that nurtures a profound humanistic spirit”; thanked the professors of the Faculty of International Studies – those who “unlocked the doors to the world, taught us seriousness in research, objectivity in academia, and honesty in thinking”; and expressed her deep gratitude to her family – the most loving support and unwavering belief on her path to knowledge.
New graduate Hoang Thi Ghi (Faculty of International Studies) delivered an emotional bilingual English-Vietnamese speech at the graduation ceremony.
The new graduate also didn't forget to send a message to herself and her classmates: "Thank you for not giving up, even when I felt tired and confused. If I could choose again, I would still choose this school, this major, and this journey – just as completely."
As the graduation certificate was held in hand, many tears were shed – not only by the students but also by their teachers and parents. Four years of youth came to a close with smiles, hugs, and promises for the road ahead.
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong addressed the new graduates, saying: "Wherever you are, whatever job you do, always carry with you the spirit of humanism, courage, and creativity that you have been instilled with at this school."
The university extends its warmest congratulations to over 330 new graduates. We wish you success in your careers and a stable life! The university and your families will always follow, support, and look forward to your new achievements on your journey ahead – a journey of intellect, character, and the aspiration to contribute as young people of the humanities!
