II. UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS

1. Eligibility and application requirements

- Individuals who have graduated from a Vietnamese high school or hold a foreign diploma with recognized equivalent qualifications.

- Individuals holding a vocational diploma in a field related to the chosen profession and who have completed the required amount of general education at the high school level as stipulated by law.(hereinafter referred to as high school graduation).

1.2 General eligibility requirements:

- Meet the required entry threshold.

- Must be in good health to study according to current regulations.

- All required personal information and application documents are provided.

But  For severely disabled candidates with impaired learning abilities who wish to apply but are unable to apply through the normal admission process, the Admissions Council will consider admitting them to programs/majors that are suitable to their health conditions.

 2. Description of the admission process4 (examination, selection based on academic records, or a combination of both...)

University of Social Sciences and Humanities,Vietnam National University, Hanoi(Vietnam National University, Hanoi) is recruiting students according to03 admission methods:

(1) Method 1 (method code:301): Direct admission and priority admission according to the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.Education and Training);

(2) Method 2 (method code:401)Admission is based on valid results from the National University of Hanoi's High School for the Gifted (HSA) aptitude test.

(3) Method 3 (method code:100): Admission based on the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam.

2.1 Method 301: Direct admission and priority admission according to the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

a) Labor Hero, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, National Emulation Fighter.

b) Candidates who won first, second, or third prize in the national or international student excellence competitions organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training.(Award-winning subjects will be considered for admission to the specified majors/programs.)Appendix 01)Students will be admitted directly to a training program relevant to the subject in which they won the award. The time elapsed since winning the award must not exceed 3 years from the time of direct admission consideration..

c) Candidates who win first, second, or third prize in national or international science and technology competitions organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training.(Award-winning subjects will be considered for admission to the specified majors/programs.)Appendix 01)Those who meet the minimum quality standards for admission to the training program will be given priority consideration for admission to a suitable training program. The award must have been received no more than 3 years prior to the admission consideration date.

d)Candidates with severe disabilities who have a disability certificate issued by a competent authority but are unable to apply through the normal admission method; and who are capable of studying certain training programs prescribed by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.(inAppendix 02)and decided by the Admissions Committee.

e)Candidates who are members of ethnic minority groups are considered very rare according to current government regulations; the majors/programs that candidates are allowed to register for admission are determined by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.(inAppendix 02).

f) Foreign candidates who have met the language proficiency standards required by the training program in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

*The University of Social Sciences and Humanities only considers direct admission and priority admission for candidates graduating from high school in 2026 who fall under points a, b, c, d, and e.

2.2 Method 401Admission based on valid results from the National University of Hanoi's High School for the Gifted (HSA) test.

Candidates whose HSA test scores are still valid as of the deadline for submitting registration applications on the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' registration portal (valid for 2 years from the date of the test).

The HSA exam, accepted by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for admission consideration, consists of three parts: Part 1: Mathematics and Data Processing (Quantitative Reasoning); Part 2: Literature and Language (Qualitative Reasoning); Part 3: English.(i.e., code Q21).

Admission scoring system: Admission is based on a 150-point scale, then converted to a 30-point scale using a formula to be announced later by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (candidates can refer to the HSA score conversion table to the 2025 high school graduation exam score conversion table, available at: https://idt.vnu.edu.vn/do-luong-va-danh-gia) and bonus points (if any) and priority points (if any) are added according to regulations.

Total score achieved =HSA points are converted to 30 + bonus points (if any).

Candidates are entitled to regional priority points as stipulated in the regulations for the year they graduate from high school (or vocational school) and one year after. (Candidates who graduated in 2024 or earlier are not eligible for regional priority points);

Priority points for candidates with a total score of 22.5 or higher (when converted to a 30-point scale, with a maximum total score of 30 for the three subjects) are determined according to the following formula:

Priority points= [(30 – Total points achieved)/7.5] × Priority points level (region, category if applicable).

2.3. Method 100Admission based on high school graduation exam results in 2026.

Candidates register for admission according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, and candidates with foreign language certificates.(as stipulated inAppendix 03)These scores will be converted into foreign language exam scores in the registered admission test combination (if desired). The foreign language score conversion table is included in the appendix.(as stipulated inAppendix 04).

International language certificates eligible for conversion must be valid until the deadline for submitting registration applications on the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' registration portal (valid for 2 years from the date of the exam); certificates with online/home edition exams are not eligible for conversion.

Candidates are entitled to regional priority points as stipulated in the regulations for the year they graduate from high school (or vocational school) and one year after. (Candidates who graduated in 2024 or earlier are not eligible for regional priority points);

Priority points for candidates with a total score of 22.5 or higher (when converted to a 30-point scale, with a maximum total score of 30 for the three subjects) are determined according to the following formula:

At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there will be a difference in scores between different admission combinations during the selection process. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will announce the results of the high school graduation exam and the score distribution when they are available.

3. Rules for converting the difference between the entrance threshold score and the admission score between different subject combinations and admission methods.

3.1. Input threshold conversion:

a. For method 100 and method 401:

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will announce the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission methods 100 and 401 after the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam, the distribution of high school graduation exam scores, and the standard conversion formula for method 401 are available.

b. Candidates who are members of ethnic minority groups with very small populations as defined by current government regulations.The total score of the three subjects in the 2026 high school graduation exam, which are part of the subject combination for admission to the major, will be used for the admission process./CTĐTRegistration requires meeting the minimum quality standards for input, similar to method 100.

3.2. Rules for converting equivalent admission scores between different methods and combinations.

Once the results and score distribution of the 2026 high school graduation exam are available, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will announce them:

- Conversion table for admission scores between method 401 and method 301, based on a 30-point scale.

- The difference between the admission combinations and the 100-point method.

- Third prize winners in national and international student competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training: receive an additional 2.0 points;

- For students participating in national or international competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, they will receive an additional 1.5 points.

- First prize in national or international science and technology competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training: 1.5 points will be added.

- Second prize in national or international science and technology competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training: 1.0 point will be added.

- Third prize in national or international science and technology competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training: 0.5 points will be added.

b) Candidates who have won prizes in the Hanoi National University High School Olympiad, the High School Excellent Student Competition, or the Provincial/City-level Excellent Student Competition are eligible to be considered for the title of "Excellent Student" in the National University of Hanoi's High School Olympiad, the High School Excellent Student Competition, or the Provincial/City-level Excellent Student Competition. Mathematics, Physics, Candidates will receive bonus points in Literature, History, Geography, English, Chinese, and Japanese. (on a scale of 30), specifically:

- First prize (Outstanding High School Student at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Vietnam National University, Hanoi High School Olympiad; Outstanding High School Student at the provincial/city level): 1.5 points will be added;

- Second prize (High School Excellent Student Award at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; High School Olympiad Award at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Provincial/City-level Excellent Student Award): 1.0 point added;

- Third prize (High School Excellent Student Award at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; High School Olympiad Award at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Provincial/City-level Excellent Student Award): 0.5 points will be added.

c) Candidates who have participated in the VNU 12+ ProgramBonus points are awarded (on a 30-point scale), specifically:

Candidates can choose the academic results of 3 courses in the undergraduate program, as published annually by VNU, that they have accumulated to calculate their GPA and determine bonus points, with the following bonus point levels:

- A GPA of excellent grade earns 1.5 bonus points;

- A GPA of excellent will earn 1.0 point.

- A GPA of "fair" will earn you 0.5 bonus points.

d) Candidates with scores on the SAT standardized test.(Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) score of 1100/1600 or higher. The registration code for Vietnam National University-Hanoi with the SAT testing organization (The College Board) is 7853-Vietnam National University-Hanoi (candidates must declare this registration code when registering for the SAT) and will receive bonus points (on a 30-point scale), specifically:

- SAT scores between 1500 and 1600 will receive an additional 1.5 points;

- SAT scores between 1300 and 1499 will receive an additional 1.25 points;

- SAT scores between 1100 and 1299 will receive 1.0 point.

e) Candidates who achieve multiple accomplishments and earn multiple bonus points will only have their scores counted once, with the highest score/achievement being recognized..

5.3. Other information:

Candidates who meet the criteria areSection 2.1 Eligibility will be determined based on the highest priority choice for each admission method (choice 1 being the highest priority).

a) For candidates falling under the categories in section 2.1, points b and c

In case the number of candidates applying for direct admission to a major/program exceeds the prescribed quota, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider admission in order of priority from highest to lowest based on the following criteria: (1) achievements in international student competitions or international science and technology competitions; (2) achievements in national student selection exams or national science and technology competitions; (3) average GPA of 03 years of high school.

* Candidates with achievements in international science and technology competitions must be members of participating teams decided by the Ministry of Education and Training (candidates belonging to teams organized and nominated by provincial Departments of Education and Training, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and Training, will not be considered for selection).

b) For candidates falling under category 2.1, point d

In the event that the number of applicants exceeds the announced quota, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider applicants based on their average GPA over the three years of high school, from highest to lowest, until the quota is filled.

c) For candidates falling under category 2.1, point e

In cases where the number of applicants exceeds the announced quota, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will convert the total admission score of the applicants according to the admission combinations to the D01 combination based on an analysis of the exam score distribution and the principles stipulated by the University; based on the conversion results, candidates will be selected from highest to lowest scores until the quota is filled.

d) For candidates belonging to the ethnic minority preparatory program for university admission (DBĐH)

Candidates who are ethnic minority preparatory university students, recommended by ethnic minority preparatory university training institutions, submit their applications to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities according to the University's instructions, and will be considered for admission to majors/training programs if they simultaneously meet the following criteria:

+ Candidates who graduated from high school in 2025;

+ Candidates must have achieved a GPA of "Good" or higher in high school.

+ Candidates haveThe average score for foreign languages ​​in high school is 7.0 or higher.

+ Candidates whose scores in the 2025 high school graduation exam form the combination used by the University for admission to regular undergraduate programs in 2025, and that combination meets the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission.as stipulated by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the corresponding major/program that the candidate registers for.;

Candidates must achieve a total score of at least 14.0 points in Mathematics and Literature in the 2025 high school graduation exam.

7. Priority Policy

7.1 General Priority Policy

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities applies a general priority policy based on region and target group in accordance with the current admission regulations.

Candidates are only eligible for regional priority policies as stipulated in the regulations for the year they graduate from high school (or vocational school) and one year thereafter.

7.2 Direct admission and priority admission

a) Oriental Studies:The Oriental Studies program has two specializations: Indian Studies and Chinese Studies. After the first semester, the Department of Oriental Studies will assign first-year Oriental Studies students to specializations based on their preferences and academic performance in the first semester. Priority will be given to students with HSK and HSKK Level 3 or higher language proficiency certificates for the Chinese Studies specialization, and international English certificates for the Indian Studies specialization.

- Students who complete the training program in both majors will receive two official bachelor's degrees.

- Requirements for enrolling in a double degree program:

+ The main field of study in the second training program must be different from the main field of study in the first training program;

+ Have completed at least two semesters of the first training program;

+ The overall average grade for all courses from the beginning of the course to the time of registration for the second training program must be 2.5 or higher and meet the quality assurance threshold for admission to the second program in the enrollment year, or the overall average grade for all courses from the beginning of the course to the time of registration for the second training program must be 2.0 or higher and meet the admission requirements of the second program in the enrollment year;

+ Students who apply to pursue a second degree program and fulfill all obligations as stipulated by the training institution.

10.3. Handling violations regarding candidate records and information.

Candidates are responsible for fully, truthfully, and accurately declaring all information in their application and enrollment documents; and for submitting valid supporting documents as required by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Candidates are fully responsible for the accuracy of the information declared and the documents submitted.

After successful admission and enrollment, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will review, cross-check, and verify the information in the application files. Candidates with inaccurate or incomplete information, invalid supporting documents, or those who do not meet the published admission requirements will be handled by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities according to current regulations. Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, the handling may include canceling the admission results or expelling the student, in accordance with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' regulations and applicable laws.
