"The school plans to recruit 50 students according to the admission regulations of Hanoi National University, using the same methods as the previous academic year," Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam, Head of the Training Department, said on the morning of January 18.
According to Mr. Nam, the school opened this major to meet the needs of society and anticipate future career trends. However, the school does not aim to train actors but focuses on screenwriting and film criticism in a systematic way.

Since it's not in the arts field, to attract students, Mr. Nam said the school will reach out and communicate with students through admissions counseling sessions.
Regarding the 2024 admissions plan in general, a representative from the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities stated that they will maintain five admission methods for 28 majors, with a total enrollment quota of approximately 2,200, 200 more than last year.
The five admission methods include direct admission and priority admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; direct admission and priority admission according to the regulations of Hanoi National University; consideration of international certificates; scores from the aptitude tests of the two national universities; and scores from the 2024 high school graduation exam.
In 2023, the entrance exam scores for the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities ranged from 20 to 28.78. Five majors scored above 28 points: Public Relations, Journalism, Oriental Studies, Korean Studies, and Psychology. The highest score was for Public Relations with 28.78 points in the C00 group (Literature, History, Geography).
The tuition fee for the school's standard training programs is a maximum of 12 million VND per year.
