Learning Management SystemA Learning Management System (LMS) is an online software system that supports the teaching and learning activities of lecturers and students, as well as the educational management activities of the school. Each lecturer and student is provided with a personal account to create courses and participate in online learning.
Mr. Pham Van Hue, Deputy Head of the Training Department at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, summarized the benefits for students using LMS in eight words: "receive - ask - discuss - share - work - submit - create - practice". These benefits include receiving documents and announcements, answering questions; asking about issues of interest or difficulty; discussing according to requirements and needs; sharing documents, opinions, and information sources; taking online tests; submitting essays online; building a peer network (networking); and practicing computer skills, software, and information retrieval.
Using an LMS will help instructors and students reduce costs and time for teaching and learning; easily and quickly access information; and increase proactiveness, inspiration, and carefulness in the teaching and learning process. In addition, students will have an environment to network with classmates and colleagues, providing many opportunities for information exchange.

During the training session, the lecturers from the Training Department provided detailed instructions to the students on how to best use the features of the LMS to support their studies, search for materials, take online tests, and participate in forum discussions. According to Ms. Vu Thi Xuan Huong, a specialist from the Training Department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the LMS is very easy to use; however, for students who want to learn more, the LMS system has a section with detailed instructions on how to use the software. The university's computer labs in rooms BC 301 and BC 401 will open at 2:30 PM daily for students who wish to practice using the LMS software.
