During these orientation sessions, students will gain a general understanding of the school, hear about regulations and rules from the school's functional departments, and receive insights from teachers and experts on university study methods, school psychology issues, and inspiration for exploring the treasure trove of knowledge and scientific research.
Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam – Vice Chairman of the University Council, Head of the Training Department, extended his congratulations to the 2,300 students who, having surpassed tens of thousands of candidates nationwide, were admitted and became new students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – a leading university in training and scientific research in the field of social sciences and humanities in the country. Professor Bui Thanh Nam also wished them many joyful and successful experiences during their four years of university.
Recalling the 80-year tradition of building from the University of General Studies and 30 years officially named the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam expressed his hope that the new students, with their youth, enthusiasm, and intellect, will contribute to building the rich tradition and affirming the university's position domestically and internationally.
Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam expressed his belief and expectation that the new students of cohort K69 would confidently break through to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the school's founding and the 30th anniversary of its establishment in 2025.
On behalf of the University's Board of Directors, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Rector) also shared with the new students of cohort K69 information about the "privileges" and opportunities that only students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi National University, have. At the same time, she expressed her belief that the new students would cultivate a spirit of self-study, self-reliance, and independence; making the most of all these opportunities to complete their undergraduate studies with the highest possible results and continue their studies at higher levels within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized: There will still be many difficulties and uncertainties in the journey ahead. But all new students should consider the teachers, senior students, and friends in the faculty and in the university as family in a common home of Hanoi University of Humanities, to accompany, share, and support each other to achieve success.
Before attending the event in the auditorium on the 8th floor of Building E, all K69 freshmen visited the Traditional Room, listening to professors share key aspects of the university's rich traditions, achievements, outstanding scientists and educators, and martyrs who were former students and lecturers of the university and sacrificed their lives for the cause of national defense. Although the visit was brief, it left a deep impression on the students, evoking feelings of pride and honor in inheriting and continuing this glorious history.

With their friendly, approachable, and witty conversational style, the teachers from the Training Department, the Political Affairs Department, and the Student Affairs Department shared the most basic and essential information about the university, regulations, rules, and the rights and obligations of students, especially useful "secrets" to help students truly shine as the best version of themselves.
Mr. Pham Van Hue, Deputy Head of the Training Department, emphasized: "University is about self-learning, and knowing how to learn correctly, practice sufficiently, and learn intelligently will surely lead to success."
Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu shared detailed information about the university's policies to support all students, especially policies on rewards, scholarships to encourage learning and scientific research, and scholarships both from within and outside the budget.

Associate Professor Dr. Do Van Hung (Head of the Information and Library Science Department) began the sharing session with questions such as: What do you understand by AI? What can AI do to support you? Will AI take away your career opportunities? How can you use AI correctly, intelligently, and effectively?... After more than an hour of sharing, interaction, and exchange, the speaker and students had answers to many of these interesting questions.
Lecturer Tran Duc Hoa (Faculty of Information and Library Science) shared: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is the first and arguably the only university in Vietnam to date that has been selected by Meta Group as an official partner to implement projects on digital competence and the use of GEN AI (generated AI), and VNU-USSH students are among the first to benefit from the results of these projects.
Representatives from the Library and Digital Knowledge Center of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, stated that humanities students will be able to access and search research on popular websites such as ProQuest, Springer, iGPublishing, etc., completely free of charge through provided links.
Dr. Duong Tat Thanh - President of the University's Student Union, introduced some of the very unique clubs of Hanoi University of Humanities students.
In the warm, friendly, and open atmosphere of the gathering, despite coming from different regions and having only met a few hours earlier, all the students became close and familiar, as if they had known each other for a long time. Gone was the shyness and hesitation; everyone blended into the common atmosphere, confidently discussing their concerns and expressing their understanding and love for their dream university – Hanoi University of Humanities – through lively mini-games with many attractive and meaningful prizes.
The orientation week began in a warm, reflective, and deeply humanistic way, yet it was also vibrant, exciting, and fresh, promising a new journey filled with many interesting and successful experiences for all K69 freshmen.
