Announcement of the 2023 Chinese Government Scholarship Program

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has received notification of the nomination of 10 candidates to study in China under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program in 2023, specifically as follows:

1. Application requirements

1.1. Not a citizen of the People's Republic of China, in good health.
1.2. Have been or are currently students, trainees, or staff members of the School.
1.3. Age, education level, and language requirements:
  • Applicants for undergraduate scholarships must be no older than 25 years of age and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or higher.
  • Applicants for Master's scholarships must be no older than 35 years of age, hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or higher.
  • Applicants for doctoral scholarships must be no older than 40 years of age, hold a Master's degree or equivalent, and have an overall GPA of 2.50 or higher.
  • Applicants for short-term study and research scholarship programs (study and research lasting 1-2 years, upon completion of which a certificate of study in China will be awarded) must be no older than 45 years old for undergraduate or graduate students and no older than 50 years old for applicants with a master's degree or higher.
1.4. Language requirements:
  • Applicants for undergraduate scholarships or short-term study and research programs in fields where Chinese is the language of instruction and learning are required to have a Chinese language proficiency equivalent to HSK 3 or higher.
  • Applicants for postgraduate scholarships in fields where Chinese is the language of instruction and learning are required to have a Chinese language proficiency equivalent to HSK4 or higher.
1.5. Other requirements
Applicants must simultaneously meet the academic, language, and other relevant requirements of the university they choose to attend after receiving the scholarship.

2. Application documents:

2.1. Application form for the Chinese Government Scholarship in Chinese or English.
2.2. A copy of the applicant's passport's first page. The passport must be valid until at least March 1, 2024. Applicants must apply for a new passport if their current passport does not meet the requirements. In cases where the passport cannot be submitted by the deadline due to unforeseen circumstances, applicants may submit documents containing their "English name, gender, nationality, and date of birth" if permitted by the receiving unit.
2.3. Certified copy of the highest degree obtained. For applicants currently enrolled at the university, a student certificate and a temporary graduation certificate (for final-year students) may be submitted. Documents in languages ​​other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a certified Chinese or English translation.
2.4. Transcripts: Transcripts in languages ​​other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Chinese or English.
2.5. Proof of Language Proficiency. Applicants who choose Chinese as the language of instruction and study in China must provide an HSK certificate or equivalent proficiency certificate as required. Applicants who choose a language of instruction and study other than Chinese must provide appropriate language proficiency certificates, such as IELTS or TOEFL, based on the language proficiency requirements of their chosen university in China.
2.6. Admission Notice. Applicants for postgraduate scholarships or short-term study/research programs may include their official or provisional admission notice from their chosen university in China, or an acceptance letter from their supervisor in China. (Applications containing the above documents will be given priority when considering applications for the Chinese Government Scholarship.)
2.7. Study plan or research proposal in Chinese or English (Minimum 200 words for undergraduate applicants; Minimum 500 words for short-term study/research program applicants; Minimum 800 words for postgraduate applicants). The study plan or research proposal must be accompanied by a Vietnamese translation.
2.8. Letters of Recommendation: Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from recommenders holding the academic rank of associate professor or higher.
2.9. Applicants for majors in art, design, etc., must submit their own works (such as sculptures, paintings, etc.), and may also submit other works in other forms depending on the requirements of the university they choose to study at in China.
2.10. For training programs lasting longer than six months in China, applicants must submit a copy of the "Foreigner Health Examination Form" (Foreigner Health Examination Form). The original form must be kept by the applicant (this form is issued according to the mẫu prescribed by the Quarantine Department of the Chinese Ministry of Health; all required information must be filled in English). Applicants must refer to the contents listed in the "Foreigner Health Examination Form" to undergo a health check. A "Foreigner Health Examination Form" that is incomplete, lacks the applicant's photo, has no hospital seal on the photo, lacks a doctor's signature, or lacks a hospital seal will be considered invalid. The health examination results are valid for six months from the date of the examination. Applicants should download the "Medical Examination Form for Foreigners" from the website.http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchinaorwww.campuschina.org.
2.11. Criminal record certificate No. 01 issued by a competent authority in Vietnam and still valid. Criminal record certificates in languages ​​other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Chinese or English.
2.12. Other documents: Certificates of merit, commendations, certificates of participation in social activities, research topics, research papers published in specialized journals, etc. If the above-mentioned documents are in languages ​​other than Chinese or English, a notarized translation into Chinese or English must be attached.

3. Instructions on the application process on the Chinese Government Scholarship Information Management System (中国政府奖学金来华留学管理信息系统”)

1. Step 1: Go to the website:http://www.campuschina.orgSelect “学生注册” (Candidate Registration) and register an account for the candidate to use. After successful registration, use the newly created account to log into the system.
2. Step 2: Log in to the "Personal Documents" section, select "Edit Personal Documents" to begin uploading your personal documents as instructed, and then select "Save". After completing the upload, select "Complete", then return to the interface above to continue filling in your scholarship application information. Applicants should fill in their scholarship application information after completing the upload of their personal documents to the website.
3. Step 3: Select the correct “留学项目种类” (Type of Study Abroad). Please select “A类”. (Type A: Scholarships selected by the Chinese Embassy based on application review)
4. Step 4: Accurately enter 7042 in the "受理机构编号" (File Processing Unit Code) field.
The Study Abroad Type (留学项目种类) and the Application Processing Agency Code (受理机构编号) are closely related. Both are mandatory fields in the "China Government Scholarship Study Abroad Information Management System." After the applicant fills in all the information correctly, the system will automatically display the name of the corresponding application processing agency and its code. Because the "Study Abroad Type" (留学项目种类) field corresponds to the "Application Processing Agency Code," incorrect information will prevent the application processing agency from receiving the applicant's registration information on the system.
5. Step 5: Fill in “申请信息” (Scholarship Application Information)
After completing the above steps, candidates log in to the "语言能力及学习计划" (Language Proficiency and Study Plan) section and upload the "补充材料" (Supplementary Documents) section. Finally, select "提交" (Submit) to complete the online registration.
Before submitting your application online, candidates should carefully check the information in each section and supporting documents to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the submitted materials. When candidates applying for a Type A scholarship write their study plan, the system will use the candidate's selection in the "Student Type and Language of Instruction" section to find suitable educational institutions with appropriate enrollment requirements. Candidates will select the "University to Apply To" and the corresponding "Major" at that university. 6. Step 6: Once you choose to submit your documents, you will not be able to edit the “Personal Documents” and “Scholarship Application Information” sections. Before your application is processed, you can select “Cancel” to cancel the submitted documents and proceed with editing. After the documents are canceled, you must edit and resubmit them; otherwise, the system will not be able to process your application. Once your scholarship application is processed, you will not be able to retrieve it.
7. Step 7: Click on “打印申请” (Print application form) to download the Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form.
8. Step 8: Applicants must send the soft copy of their 2023 Chinese Government Scholarship Application to the following email address:nguyenth@ussh.edu.vnPlease submit the hard copy of your 2023 China Government Scholarship Application to the Cooperation and Development Office, Room 404, Building E, before 5 PM on January 13, 2023.
