Attending the ceremony, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, there were Mr. Peng Shituan (Cultural Counselor), Mr. Zheng Dawei (Education Counselor), and Mr. Wang Dingguan (First Secretary).
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) represented the School's Board of Directors to attend this event.
In his speech, Mr. Bang The Doan said: In the past two years, although the Covid pandemic has raged in China, Vietnam and other countries around the world, causing many serious consequences in many fields, education has also been greatly affected. However, the educational management agencies of China and Vietnam have maintained regular exchanges, working together to help Vietnamese students in China continue their studies. In 2020 and 2021, more than 12,000 Vietnamese students completed their studies at Chinese schools despite the difficulties. Currently, based on the ability to prevent and control COVID-19 properly, the Chinese authorities are creating conditions for many Vietnamese students to return to China to study more effectively.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong expressed her sincere and deep gratitude to the Government of the People's Republic of China for its attention, through the Embassy, over the past 10 years, it has awarded nearly 100 scholarships to staff, lecturers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The international students who received the scholarships, after studying at Chinese universities, have all returned to their home country, making very practical contributions to the development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to the development of Vietnam in general and contributing to further fostering the closeness and friendly relationship between the two countries. The school hopes that the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and the Chinese Embassy will continue to support, assist, create bridges, grant many scholarships to Vietnamese students studying in China and create conditions for many Chinese students to study in Vietnam. Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong also sent her best wishes to the staff, lecturers and students receiving scholarships to study in China and to always spread the friendly and warm image and culture of Vietnamese people in China.
Also at the ceremony, Education Counselor - Mr. Trinh Dai Vi congratulated the students who received scholarships today, wished them good study, and encouraged them to actively participate in cultural exchange activities between China and Vietnam, while promoting friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Representatives of Vietnamese students receiving scholarships expressed their deep gratitude to the attention of the Chinese Government, the Chinese Embassy, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam as well as the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for creating conditions for young staff and students to have the opportunity to exchange, study and improve their professional qualifications at leading universities in China. At the same time, they also affirmed: it is an honor to receive a scholarship from the Chinese Government and will cherish this opportunity to study, work hard and seriously to cultivate and improve their professional qualifications; as well as actively participate in activities to contribute to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the schools where they study in particular and the exchange relationship between Vietnam and China in general.
At the end of the ceremony, the two sides exchanged souvenirs and took commemorative photos with the officers and students who received the scholarships.
