Also attending the meeting were representatives from the Faculty of Anthropology, the Cooperation and Development Office, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Hong Hai (lecturer in the Faculty of Anthropology). Speaking at the meeting, Vice Rector Dao Thanh Truong introduced the strengths of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in training and scientific research, and the areas where the two sides can cooperate. Expanding international cooperation in training and scientific research is one of the strategies that the University is particularly interested in. Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has cooperative relationships with nearly 300 educational organizations in countries around the world. During today's meeting, the two sides will exchange key issues to reach a Memorandum of Understanding as a foundation for effective cooperation in the future.
Dr. Silvia Barbotto and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong discussed areas where the two sides could cooperate.
Dr. Silvia Barbotto highly appreciated the position of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam's higher education system and believed that the memorandum of understanding would be a foundation for promoting effective cooperation in scientific research and human resource development between the two universities.
Representatives from both sides exchanged views on the principles and specific details of cooperation:
- Organize research projects and initiatives of mutual interest;
- Exchange of teachers, researchers, postgraduate students, undergraduate students, administrative and technical staff;
- Sharing the use of laboratories, infrastructure, libraries, etc.;
- Assign staff to participate in general meetings, conferences, and specialized seminars;
- Sharing information, publishing scientific papers and other scientific and educational tools of common interest;
- Disseminate the scientific results obtained from the collaboration.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Rector Dao Thanh Truong thanked the University of Turin for trusting and choosing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as a reliable partner to promote cooperation in training and scientific research. Following today's meeting, both sides will soon finalize the specific content and proceed with signing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation based on the contents discussed and agreed upon.
