Promoting Cooperation Between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Renmin University of China

This is the content of the working session between representatives of the two schools on July 19, 2025, which took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH).
The meeting is an opportunity for both sides to evaluate the results of cooperation in the past time and discuss the direction of developing the partnership in the future.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) introduced the fields of training, scientific research, academic conference activities as well as international cooperation programs being implemented at the school. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh (Head of the Department of Linguistics) shared more about the Vietnamese language and culture training programs for Chinese students, along with many cooperation activities that have been and are being developed with Chinese partners.

On the side of the delegation from Renmin University of China, Professor Zheng Xinye (Vice President of the University) expressed his high consensus on the cooperation orientation that both sides are interested in. He introduced a number of special training programs that the Chinese Government has assigned to Renmin University of China to host and hoped to attract international students, especially Vietnamese students. The professor also proposed promoting cooperation in the fields of cultural, historical, political and economic research between the two countries, based on similarities in institutions and traditions. In addition, short-term exchange programs with financial support, as well as plans to publish annual reports on Vietnam - China cooperation are contents that Renmin University of China is particularly interested in.
In addition, Renmin University of China also expressed its desire to cooperate in in-depth research on Marxism and socialism, connecting with the majors of Philosophy and Political Science at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build a comprehensive cooperation framework between the two schools. Accordingly, the two sides agreed to strengthen academic research cooperation, connect specialized departments between faculties; implement short-term student exchange programs; promote joint activities in scientific research, starting from 2025.
The working session contributed to deepening the cooperative relationship between the two leading higher education institutions in the two countries, while opening up many practical connection opportunities in the future.
Representatives of the two schools signed a cooperation framework in a number of training and research activities.
Previously, in December 2023, a delegation from Renmin University of China had a working session at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and agreed on many cooperation contents.
With 28 Bachelor's programs, 36 Master's programs, and 31 Doctoral programs, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has received special attention from universities and research institutes in China. In 2023 alone, nearly 200 Chinese students are studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Faculty of Linguistics, Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language, Literature, History, Sociology, International Studies, etc.). Chinese students coming to study at USSH are not only guaranteed the quality of teaching, but also supported with accommodation, health care services, and cultural and scenic experiences in Vietnam.
