Delegation of the Faculty of Anthropology and Religious Studies worked with the Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hanoi
At the invitation of the Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hanoi, on August 10, 2025, a delegation of officials and lecturers from the Faculty of Anthropology and Religious Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, led by Dr. Nguyen Vu Hoang - Deputy Head of the Faculty, and a delegation of officials and researchers from the Institute of Ethnology and Religious Studies, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, led by Dr. Bui Thi Bich Lan - Deputy Head of the Institute, visited and worked at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (VBS) in Hanoi.
Also attending the meeting were Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, Deputy Chief of Office of the Catholic Solidarity Committee, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Representatives of the Academy receiving the delegation included: Venerable, Doctor Thich Thanh Quyet - Vice President of the Central Executive Council, Head of the Central Buddhist Education Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, President of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hanoi; Professor Luong Gia Tinh - Deputy President, Head of Training Department; Venerable Thich Thanh Tri - Deputy Head of the Postgraduate Training Department of the Academy.
Venerable, Rector Thich Thanh Quyet highly appreciated the contributions of scientists to the development of the Academy in recent times.
The content of the working session revolved around a very practical topic, suggested by the Executive Council of the Buddhist Academy (Hanoi), which was to exchange and propose directions for cooperation in training talented monks, scientific research on ethnic and religious issues in general and Buddhism in particular in the coming time.
The Most Venerable, Rector Thich Thanh Quyet happily appreciated the contributions of scientists to the development of the Academy in recent times. The representative of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hanoi expressed his desire to continue to cooperate with research agencies and educational institutions, to develop together and contribute together in the fields of scientific research, training, improving the level of Buddhist studies and secular studies for monks and nuns of the Academy, promoting the harmonious development of the relationship between religion and life in Vietnamese society today.

On behalf of the Faculty of Anthropology and Religious Studies delegation, Dr. Nguyen Vu Hoang, on behalf of the Faculty's Board of Directors, briefly introduced the situation of the Faculty since the merger and the remarkable achievements in training cooperation in Religious Studies at the undergraduate, postgraduate and part-time levels with a number of local Buddhist educational institutions. On that basis, the staff and lecturers of the Faculty proposed a number of potential training cooperation directions, such as participating in teaching secular subjects at the Academy, linking postgraduate training, scientific research, etc.
