University of Social Sciences and Humanities and University of Alabama cooperate in research on Southeast Asia

On the afternoon of July 15, 2024, representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi had a meeting and worked with representatives of the University of Alabama to discuss cooperation in research on Southeast Asia and student exchange.
At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Nam - Vice Chairman of the School Council, Head of Training Department welcomed the delegation to visit the school, and at the same time introduced to the delegation the most general information about the traditional thick raft, position, achievements of the School in training and scientific research, international cooperation.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Nam, international students studying at VNU - USSH are not only guaranteed the quality of teaching, but also supported with accommodation, health care services as well as cultural and scenic experiences in Vietnam. In that spirit, the Associate Professor hopes that the University of Alabama will specifically discuss research cooperation opportunities between the two sides and specific programs and activities to support students and lecturers.
Dr. Lisa Pawloski - representative of the Department of Anthropology, College of Arts and Sciences, University of Alabama shared her joy when visiting the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. According to the Doctor, the University of Alabama and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities share many similarities in the training process and research direction of the Social Sciences and Humanities. With more than 85,000 students, 23 majors at all levels, the University of Alabama hopes to soon send students and graduate students to study short-term programs at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Dr. Lisa Pawloski also expressed her hope to soon welcome students and lecturers to study and work at the University of Alabama.
Dr. Lisa Pawloski hopes that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will soon become a long-term partner in Vietnam, developing the cooperative relationship between the two sides in a sustainable and profound manner and will reap many achievements in the future. At the meeting, the two sides also discussed in detail some approaches to documents and research on the Southeast Asian region in Vietnam.

Founded in 1831, The University of Alabama (UA) is the flagship public university in the state of Alabama, located in the heart of the southeastern United States. The school offers more than 250 courses in 12 affiliated schools and is home to the only government-funded law school in Alabama, ranked 9th among public universities in the United States. The school's engineering program is also among the 5 oldest in the United States.
