Here is a quote from Comrade Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Secretary of the Party Delegation, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in his congratulatory letter to cadres, members, and journalists nationwide to remind them of the contributions of generations of journalists as well as those participating in journalism and media training in the cause of protecting and developing the country:
“Remembering our roots is also the time when each of us journalists feels more clearly the honor and responsibility of “serving the people, serving the revolution”.
Over the past 99 years, Vietnamese journalists have fulfilled that responsibility well, always accompanying the country and the people. During the war years, thousands of cadres and reporters fought side by side with soldiers and laborers, serving in combat on all fronts. Hundreds of journalists and martyrs heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, adding to the glorious tradition of the country's revolutionary press. Entering the period of peace, innovation and integration, press agencies have fulfilled their role as the mouthpiece of the Party, the State, political, social and professional organizations, and as a forum for the people, maintaining political orientation, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the Party, the State and the regime. With a tradition of nearly 80 years, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU is a leading training and research unit in the field of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. In particular, training and research in journalism and communication is one of the strengths of the school, contributing to providing high-quality, highly qualified human resources; researching, creating and disseminating knowledge about journalism and communication, serving the cause of national construction, defense and international integration.
