The University of Social Sciences and Humanities participated in planting trees at the Friendship Garden.

The event was organized by the Russian Federation Cooperation Agency - Russian Science and Culture Center in Hanoi in collaboration with the Russian Embassy and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations in Hanoi. It aimed to commemorate the glorious and successful milestones in the traditional friendly and diplomatic cooperation between Vietnam and Russia; and to honor and remember the contributions of soldiers from both countries who fought and sacrificed for the cause of national defense, peace, and world peace. The event was attended by representatives from the Russian Embassy, ​​the Russian Science and Culture Center in Hanoi, the Hanoi People's Committee, various ministries and agencies, and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.

The event, held in 2020, the Year of Vietnam in Russia and Russia in Vietnam, marked several important and significant events, such as the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Russia (1950-2020), the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), and the 45th anniversary of the victory in the War of Liberation of South Vietnam and national reunification (1957-1975).

By participating in this event, the faculty and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, wish to join hands in spreading the message of friendship between Vietnam and Russia; and at the same time, share and raise awareness about environmental protection, the role, effects, and value of tree planting, disaster mitigation, and adaptation to climate change.
