During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh introduced Mr. Joerg Helmke to the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities, the first high school specializing in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The school officially held its entrance exam in July 2020, which included an English exam with relatively good results from the candidates. With a policy of comprehensive and internationalized education, the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities places great emphasis on foreign language training for its students. In addition to English as the main foreign language, the school plans to teach German as a second foreign language. With this aspiration, the school hopes to receive cooperation from ZfA in supporting the teaching of this language.

Dr. Joerg Helmke expressed his sincere gratitude for the thoughtful reception from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and highly appreciated the idea of choosing German as the language of instruction at the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities. ZfA is ready to support the school in improving the German language skills of its lecturers, providing learning materials, and exchanging professional knowledge. He also extended an invitation for the school to join PASCH – a network of high schools teaching German, with over 2000 members.
Following the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu invited Mr. Joerg Helmke to tour the school's facilities, grounds, and classrooms to gain an overall understanding and plan for future collaborations.

The German Committee for General Education Abroad (ZfA) was established in 1968 and has collaborated with over 1,200 schools. Since 2008, ZfA has supported German language teaching in Vietnam, researching, surveying, and selecting suitable secondary schools for the program. With ZfA's support, nearly 20 high schools in various provinces and cities across Vietnam have implemented German language instruction.
