Wireless network coverage with the most optimal technical solution.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Associate Professor Lai Quoc Khanh, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, stated that the implementation of the wireless network upgrade project is a major commitment of the University's leadership to realize the digital transformation policy in higher education. Digital transformation is becoming an inevitable trend worldwide and is a crucial solution for Vietnam's rapid and sustainable development. In this context, leading universities in Vietnam, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, are moving towards becoming digital universities. The university has implemented many activities to provide convenience for the learning, research, teaching, and work activities of students, trainees, lecturers, and staff. Extending wireless network coverage across the entire university is one of the activities prioritized by the university.

According to Vice Principal Lai Quoc Khanh, implementing the wireless network upgrade project is a major commitment of the school's leadership.
The project "Upgrading the Wireless Network System of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi" was developed by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, starting in 2022 and officially launched in February 2023. With the expectation of building a synchronized and highly efficient internet network, ensuring operational capacity in a high-density access environment, and facilitating system management, the university researched and selected the most optimal technology solution from VinaPhone Telecommunications Service Corporation (VNPT Hanoi, part of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group). Accordingly, the wireless network system at VNU-USSH has been invested in a synchronized, modern, and scientifically sound manner. This system provides high-speed internet connectivity for users, supporting management, training, scientific research, operational activities, and other functions.
The biggest challenge was that the school lacked a dedicated Wi-Fi infrastructure. Therefore, the school's IT team collaborated with engineers from VNPT Hanoi to develop the most optimal solutions. At times, the technical teams from both units had to work until 1 AM to meet the project deadline.

Mr. Tran Mai, Deputy Director of VNPT Hanoi Business Center, stated that the wireless network system at VNU-USSH ensures high bandwidth for a high user density.
According to Mr. Tran Mai, Deputy Director of VNPT Hanoi Business Center, after completing phase 1 of the project, the wifi system has covered all lecture halls in buildings E, G, I, and BC, ensuring the best transmission for the needs of a large number of users. The system is built with specialized, high-load equipment, and all wifi devices are centrally managed, allowing easy access to information and optimizing performance, thus optimizing management and operation. In addition, the equipment uses modern technologies and standards, in line with current IT trends and developments, supporting modern security standards and ensuring system safety. The system is easily scalable in the future without affecting the core network architecture, and its design optimizes investment costs and minimizes operating costs.
VNPT Hanoi will continue to support the university in the most effective use and management of the wireless internet system. In addition, the company will also provide consulting support to help the University of Social Sciences and Humanities build a complete framework for digital transformation and information security management.

Project acceptance testing for phase 1 is being conducted in the lecture halls and server systems.
Vice Rector Lai Quoc Khanh highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the Communication and Information Technology Center, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the active coordination and support of VNPT Hanoi in the project implementation process. During the first six months of the project, the university will cooperate with VNPT to evaluate the effectiveness of the wireless network system in order to develop the best upgrade solutions and support for users.
Bringing the best values to learning, teaching, and research.
With its pioneering position in the national education system, and its development orientation towards an advanced research university model in the field of social sciences and humanities, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-USSH, recognizes that digital transformation is of paramount importance and a strategic breakthrough in innovation in training and scientific research through the application and implementation of digital technology solutions and the optimization of management systems based on digital platforms. It can be said that digital transformation activities at VNU-USSH have been implemented early and have achieved certain results. In recent times, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has been a pioneer in digital transformation activities within the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with the application of a one-stop administrative procedure support software for students, a job portal, and a student management and support app. VNU-USSH was the first unit to deploy a mobile application specifically for students, providing an interactive information channel for them in training and scientific research activities. It was also one of the first units to implement digital signatures on the Eoffice software at the Faculty/Institute/Center/Department level with synchronized technological solutions, aiming for application throughout the entire university.
Delivering the best possible value to learning, teaching, and research activities is the primary goal of the Wireless Network Upgrade Project at VNU-USSH.
User experience interface on wireless network at VNU-USSH
Upgrading the wireless network system is an effort by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to provide the best value for students, trainees, lecturers, and staff in their learning, teaching, research, and work at VNU-USSH. From here, learners and teachers can easily access broadband internet to explore the vast online data resources, implement online teaching activities, and apply new and advanced teaching technologies.
The wireless network system at VNU-USSH will establish separate usage policies for each user group, including: staff and faculty; students; and visiting partners. In particular, the university always respects individuality and ensures the security and safety of users in the online space.
Student Vu Thi Quynh My from the Faculty of Library and Information Science said that she and other VNU-USSH students were very happy to learn that the university was implementing a wireless network system in all lecture halls. From there, students can easily access the internet with high speeds to search for study materials and stay updated on the latest trends in modern science. The first-year student also said that classes will be more lively as students can quickly find information to discuss during lectures right in the lecture hall.
