From November 7-9, 2024, the final round and closing ceremony of the Science and Technology Award for students in higher education institutions took place at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. This is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (Vietnam Fund for Technical Innovation Support - VIFOTEC) and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, aiming to recognize outstanding achievements and encourage students to participate in scientific research, contributing to improving the quality of training and nurturing young scientific talents in higher education institutions.

In 2024, a total of 536 student projects from 95 universities nationwide participated in the award consideration process, with 106 projects selected for the final round. The projects were divided into six fields: Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities.

This year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, has two student research projects that have advanced to the final round: the project "The Relationship Between Double Gender Discrimination, Double Sexual Standards, and Sexual Autonomy in Vietnamese Youth" (by students Do Ha Trang, Nguyen Mai Cam Nhung, Dang Thi Anh, and Le Khanh Linh – Psychology K65) in the field of Social Sciences, and "Experimental Description of the Tonal System of Some Dialects in Ba Vi, Hanoi" (by student Tran Quang Minh - Linguistics K66) in the field of Humanities.

In the final round, student groups presented their research results to the review board, displayed posters of their work, and participated in networking and experiential activities organized by the host institution.

In the end, both projects excellently won second prize, receiving certificates from the Ministry of Education and Training along with commendations from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. This encouraging achievement not only reflects the knowledge, skills, and passion for scientific research of the students themselves, but also the result of the teaching, research, and encouragement of student scientific research activities that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities always prioritizes and invests in.
