The commemoration and scholarship awarding ceremony was attended by the esteemed members of the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, former leaders and staff of the Faculty, as well as the entire current leadership and faculty members, and nearly 800 students, graduate students, and doctoral candidates of the Faculty of History.
In a solemn and warm atmosphere of teacher-student camaraderie, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son (Head of the History Department) expressed his deep gratitude and best wishes to all generations of teachers who have worked and are currently working at the History Department on November 20th. The intellectual contributions, talent, and dedication of these teachers are an invaluable legacy and a solid foundation for the next generation to inherit and develop the "Comprehensive History - Humanities History" brand to a new level.
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son shared: “The Le Van Huu Scholarship and the Dinh Xuan Lam Award represent the dedication, affection, intellect, and resources that generations of teachers, students, graduate students, and doctoral candidates have devoted to those who have achieved many accomplishments and made great efforts; aiming to encourage learning, talent, and passion for history. We hope that the goals of these two funds—to discover, nurture, and guide the careers of the “finest talents” in history and culture nationwide—will continue to develop in the future.”

The Le Van Huu Scholarship was established in 2006 – coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of History. The scholarship was an initiative of the late Associate Professor, Doctor, and Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Hai Ke. At the 2024 Vietnamese Teachers' Day celebration, 22 Le Van Huu scholarships (each worth 2 million VND) were awarded to 22 students with outstanding academic achievements, students who were class officers, Youth Union/Student Association members with good academic performance, students from disadvantaged backgrounds with good academic performance from the K66, K67, K68 cohorts, and the K69 student who was the top-scoring student in the History and Cultural Studies entrance exam.
Sending congratulations to the 22 outstanding students who were honored with scholarships, Professor Vu Duong Ninh, Chairman of the Le Van Huu Foundation, shared: “Exactly 69 years ago, there was also a bewildered student who entered the university lecture hall (which was then still at 19 Le Thanh Tong Street). And that student is now an old man over 90 years old. But compared to the generation of teachers, you students are very confident, dynamic, and quick to absorb technological achievements. You are living in the most beautiful days of your youth; life is long, but time in the lecture hall is very short, so enjoy and make the most of your youthful days to study, accumulate knowledge, and hone your skills so that you have no regrets and are worthy of the reward you receive today. And after graduation, with the knowledge and confidence imparted by your teachers, dedicate yourselves to your passions, to the community, and perhaps even to others.” "Let's continue to spread the word so that the Le Van Huu Scholarship Fund will grow stronger and stronger."

Professor Vu Duong Ninh
With the aim of commemorating and honoring, and to create opportunities for future generations of students, trainees, and researchers to continue their studies, carry on the legacy, and multiply the achievements in history of the late Professor Dinh Xuan Lam, the Dinh Xuan Lam History Fund was established in 2017 and awards prizes to outstanding students, trainees, researchers, and lecturers in universities and research institutes nationwide.
According to Professor Nguyen Van Khanh, Head of the Dinh Xuan Lam Award Management Board, from its establishment until 2021, the award was only given to candidates from Hue and northward. However, since 2022, the Fund has expanded its scope nationwide. In 2024, the Dinh Xuan Lam Award Management Board received more than 30 applications from universities and academies, including not only students, master's degree holders, and doctoral candidates, but also teaching staff with outstanding research and publications. After reviewing the submitted applications fairly, objectively, and carefully, the Fund Management Board selected 22 outstanding students, master's degree holders, doctoral degree holders, and lecturers to receive the award. The awards included 15 students, 2 newly graduated Master's degree holders, 3 newly graduated PhD holders, and 2 young lecturers from universities and academies in Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City, and Quy Nhon, with a total prize value of nearly 250 million Vietnamese dong.
On behalf of the Award Executive Board, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh conveyed the following message: “Professor Dinh Xuan Lam, a renowned historian and respected teacher, dedicated his entire life to education, training, and scientific research – a man wholeheartedly devoted to the ‘profession of history.’ Next year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late Professor Dinh Xuan Lam, therefore I respectfully propose that the Faculty of History and all generations of teachers, students, trainees, researchers, and staff join together to commemorate him with the most practical activities. In this warm atmosphere of teacher-student affection, I express my deep gratitude to the generations of teachers who have wholeheartedly accompanied many generations of students, contributing to the training of genuine scientists, useful citizens, intelligent, compassionate, and ready to dedicate themselves to the cause of building and protecting the Vietnamese Fatherland.”

Professor, Doctor, People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh
On behalf of the students, graduate students, doctoral candidates, and lecturers who received scholarships and awards, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Sang (Da Nang University of Education), one of the two young staff members who received the Dinh Xuan Lam Award for outstanding published work, stated: “Today, I am truly moved and honored to receive this prestigious award from the Foundation named after Historian Dinh Xuan Lam – one of the four professors revered as the “Legendary Four Pillars” of modern Vietnamese historiography. For us, this is not only a recognition of our efforts in studying, researching, and working, but also a great encouragement and motivation for us to continue striving even harder for the development of ourselves and the field of history in our country. With this great honor, we are aware that the results we have achieved today are still very small compared to the affection, dedication, and invaluable spiritual gifts that our teachers have bestowed upon us. On this day honoring the great scholars...” "On behalf of all students, trainees, and researchers, I would like to extend our best wishes and deepest gratitude to you, Professor."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Sang
