1. Background and reasons for organization

The Party and State have placed the ethnic issue in a strategic position in the process of building, developing the socio-economy and defending the country. In recent years, in the global trend of digital transformation, the State has begun to implement the national digital transformation program with many specific programs and activities from the central to local levels. The current digital transformation is strongly affecting all aspects of ethnic life, creating many opportunities and advantages in socio-economic development, education, health care, etc., while also containing many challenges in social management, trade transactions, law enforcement, etc. in ethnic communities in Vietnam, ethnic minorities in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, foreign communities living in Vietnam, and a part of Vietnamese people residing abroad. Reality shows that the issue of ethnicity in the context of digital transformation, which is taking place very dynamically in Vietnam, needs to be discussed properly by scientists and policy makers, thereby contributing effectively to the process of sustainable development of ethnic communities in Vietnam today, with a vision to 2030.
