The workshop attracted the participation of more than 100 scientists and researchers from institutes and schools across the country and representatives of General Vo Nguyen Giap's family.
Opening the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Luu Van Quyet, Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Ho Chi Minh City National University, recognized General Vo Nguyen Giap as a special phenomenon, a talented general, a model revolutionary intellectual, a great teacher and culturalist, who devoted his whole life to the ideals of national independence and peace for humanity. The General's ideology is the crystallization of patriotic traditions, democratic spirit, enlightenment, modernity and a sober, humane character before the decisive moments of history. In his thinking, people are always the center, people are the source of strength, cultural and intellectual education is the solid foundation for building a sustainably developed nation.
The workshop is an opportunity for the scientific community to look back, reflect and clarify the great ideological values ​​that the General left behind - values ​​that have gone beyond the framework of military history, becoming a precious spiritual heritage of the Vietnamese people.
Nearly 150 presentations from many research institutes, universities, academies, central and local agencies across the country are clear evidence of the vitality and profound influence of General Vo Nguyen Giap's ideology in many fields.
With a spirit of serious research and multi-dimensional perspectives, the conference contributes to enriching the theoretical foundation for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new era.

Associate Professor, Dr. Cao Xuan Long, Head of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Ho Chi Minh City National University, affirmed that General Vo Nguyen Giap is one of the outstanding figures in modern Vietnamese history. He was not only the first Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People's Army, a legendary general of the 20th century, but also a great intellectual, a close and excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh. His life and career are closely associated with the most important milestones of the Vietnamese revolution from the first years of building and defending the country, to the cause of unification and building the country in peace. The General's name has entered the nation's history as a vivid and moving symbol of patriotism, intelligence, bravery and great personality.
The papers submitted to the conference demonstrated a sense of scientific responsibility, respect and deep admiration for the General, and clearly reflected the depth of thought, theoretical stature and practical value that his life and career left for posterity.
The articles focus on three major groups of topics including the life and career of General Vo Nguyen Giap in the flow of national history; the ideology of General Vo Nguyen Giap - the great ideological-cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people; the significance and historical lessons of General Vo Nguyen Giap.
The papers clarified the main stages in the General’s revolutionary life, from a teacher and journalist to a military leader, a talented general, and a loyal revolutionary soldier. Through that, the researchers deeply analyzed his role, position, and special influence in key periods of modern Vietnamese history, especially the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954 and the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975 - victories of decisive significance in the cause of national liberation and reunification.
Regarding the ideology of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the discussions also clarified the theoretical and practical depth in military ideology, strategy, and the art of command, especially the principle of “people’s war” - a unique military innovation in the history of world revolution. In particular, many articles delved into the humanistic values, revolutionary ethics, and personal qualities of the General when carrying out turning-point orders, especially the spirit of initiative and responsibility when implementing the directive “Generals on the move” of President Ho Chi Minh.
Scientists also analyzed his close leadership style, serious academic spirit, and lifelong self-study example (from a teacher to a researcher with famous historical works such as the Complete Memoirs of General Vo Nguyen Giap) showing a harmonious combination of intellectual stature and personal virtue.

In terms of value, significance and historical lessons, many research works have approached General Vo Nguyen Giap as a figure of global stature, considered by international researchers as a "living legend of the 20th century," a symbol of the strength of a small nation that can defeat much larger forces with will, intelligence and patriotism. From there, many scholars have recommended a more in-depth and systematic study of the General's strategic thinking, philosophy of action and personality as a special cultural and spiritual asset in the context of the country entering a new stage of development.

Delegates emphasized that General Vo Nguyen Giap is a living embodiment of the combination of traditional qualities and modern spirit, of military prowess and cultural depth. The General is a convincing testament to the power of human beings when intelligence is closely linked to national ideals, when revolutionary ethics go hand in hand with concrete, resolute actions, for the people, for the Fatherland./.
