Collaboration in archival science between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Jeonnam Research Institute

This morning, June 11, 2025, representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) and Jeonnam Research Institute (JNI), Korea had a working session and signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in many aspects of activities.
At the meeting, representatives of Jeonnam Research Institute expressed their honor that Jeonnam Research Institute had the opportunity to cooperate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU - one of the leading universities in Vietnam in research and training in social sciences and humanities.
Representatives of VNU-USSH and JNI discussed and agreed to cooperate in many fields, especially in the field of archival science and digital conversion of archival documents formed by residential communities, especially localities rich in cultural traditions in Vietnam.

Dr. Cam Anh Tuan - Head of the Department of Archival Science and Office Administration, University of Social Sciences and Humanities emphasized the opportunities for cooperation in research and training in the field of archival science.
Accordingly, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Jeonnam Research Institute will jointly develop KOICA project proposals, conduct joint research initiatives and academic events in the key areas of archival science, public records management and local heritage documentation. In addition, the two sides will carry out exchange activities for scholars, researchers and experts to support project development and academic advancement.

Archival science and office management is one of the strong research fields of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, with many potential research directions, such as document digitization and organizational data management, archiving in e-government environment, smart cities, soft skills and organizational psychology in modern office management, systematization of national intellectual heritage and community memory, etc.
These studies not only have scientific value but also have the ability to solve practical problems such as: storing citizen records, managing business documents, preserving national documentary heritage... of organizations, businesses, and localities.
VNU-USSH and JNI are expected to collaborate in research on digital transformation of archival documents created by communities, especially those in localities rich in cultural traditions in Vietnam.
