In his keynote address at the conference, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, the Rector of the University, emphasized that scientific research and training are the two pillars of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The university has undertaken many activities to strongly promote scientific research among lecturers, students, trainees, and postgraduate researchers.
In the context of changing regulations regarding investment in scientific research activities, the university leadership desires research products that are interconnected and long-term within the overall science and technology development strategy of the university. With the view of unlimited investment in key scientific products, the university encourages scientists to develop in-depth individual research products while simultaneously placing their individual research activities within the overall mission of the university.
The university leadership also expects that delegates attending the conference will discuss and propose solutions to promote the development of science and technology, contributing to enhancing the position and reputation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the next 10 years.
Rector Hoang Anh Tuan expressed that each scientist needs to take responsibility for promoting the scientific research tradition of the university, from the University of Hanoi to the School of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Professor Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, chaired the conference.
The conference heard a report summarizing the scientific research activities in 2024 and discussed and proposed solutions to develop a plan of key tasks to promote the development of science and technology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2025.
Accordingly, in 2024-2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will publish 54 textbooks, 12 monographs, organize 36 scientific conferences, publish approximately 400 domestic and 165 international scientific articles, including 85 articles published in ISI and Scopus-listed journals. Towards the 80th anniversary of its tradition and the 30th anniversary of its establishment, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will publish publications such as "From Synthesis to Humanities - Memories of a School," and a series of 82 books on Social Sciences and Humanities...
In 2024-2025, the university intensified student research activities and achieved several results, including numerous high-level awards from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam National University. The university also invested heavily in 16 student research projects.
The report outlines the direction for 2025 with three key tasks: publishing high-quality books, publishing after domestic and international scientific conferences, and promoting international scientific publications.
Dr. Trinh Van Dinh - Head of the Research and Development Management Department, presented the report on research activities in 2024.
The conference received numerous discussions and contributions from scientists and unit leaders regarding the development of key research activities. Emphasis was placed on the need for the university to establish a research ecosystem in Social Sciences and Humanities throughout the university and within each research field, and to adjust the research implementation process accordingly. Promoting the publication of international scientific papers, organizing large-scale scientific conferences with high scientific value, and increasing the publication of research works by students and postgraduate researchers were also among the issues discussed by the delegates.
Dr. Nguyen Van Manh - Deputy Head of the History Department, shared experiences in implementing the Department's scientific tasks in 2024.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh - Head of the Linguistics Department - proposed promoting the publication of research papers by students and doctoral candidates.
Speaking at the conference, Professor Lai Quoc Khanh, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, expressed his hope that the leaders of the units would spread the spirit of responsibility of scientists and lecturers in completing scientific tasks, while also fostering connection, sharing, and building a scientific research community throughout the university to effectively implement the science and technology development strategy of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The collaboration of lecturers, scientists, students, trainees, and researchers in developing scientific work will contribute to the overall achievements of the university in 2025 - a pivotal year in the university's development history.
