The launching ceremony was organized by the Cam Pha City Party Committee and People's Committee on April 22, 2025, in Cam Pha City (Quang Ninh province), to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 25, 1975 - April 30, 2025); and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Mining Region (April 25, 1955 - April 24, 2025).
Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Van Quan - Faculty of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Mr. Pham Le Hung - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of the city; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; and leaders of departments and units under the city.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, leaders of the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and city leaders pressed the button to launch the book "Cam Pha - Land and People".
This book was launched to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 25, 1975 - April 30, 2025); and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Mining Region (April 25, 1955 - April 24, 2025).
The book "Cam Pha - Land and People," published by the National Political Publishing House, is the product of a city-level Science and Technology project chaired by Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan; co-edited by Associate Professor Dr. Vu Van Quan and Dr. Nguyen Van Anh. More than 20 scientists from the fields of Physical Geography, History, Culture and Heritage of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; and the Vietnam Institute of Studies and Development Science also participated in its compilation. The book, 959 pages long, consists of 10 chapters divided into 3 parts: Part I: Physical Geography, Population, and Administration; Part II: History; and Part III: Culture. In addition to the hard copy, an electronic version is also available on the city's digital platforms, allowing readers easy access and access.
This book is the most complete and comprehensive compilation about Cam Pha city. It is an important document for researching and understanding the natural conditions, population, history, and culture of the city. Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee - emphasized that even in the near future, when the district-level administrative units are abolished, the book will still be an important document for understanding the history, culture, and potential advantages of the localities that were formerly part of the current Cam Pha city administration.
