

Posters showcasing outstanding scientific works by students are displayed in the schoolyard.
This year, the University has 991 students participating in scientific research with 780 projects. The number of students participating in scientific research accounts for 16.65% of the total number of students in the entire university. The three faculties with the highest number of students participating in scientific research are the Faculty of Literature (120 students with 119 projects), the Faculty of Journalism and Communication (118 students with 110 projects), and the Faculty of Oriental Studies (114 students with 112 projects).
To widely promote the research results of the students, summaries of the most outstanding scientific works were printed on eye-catching posters displayed on campus before the conference. These summaries were also posted online several weeks in advance to identify which works received the most support from the online student community.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, delivered a speech at the conference.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Rector of the University - shared with the students the importance of scientific research for the development of the University. Scientific research is one of the most important pillars in the context of the University aiming to become an advanced research university in the region. Student scientific research plays a crucial role in realizing the criteria of a research university, as well as contributing to improving the quality of teaching activities.
The Principal also encouraged the students to actively participate in research activities to turn their creative ideas into reality, satisfy their professional passions, and contribute to solving many practical problems in social life.

Unlike previous years, this year's conference was divided into subcommittees, with only one plenary session and five outstanding student research projects selected for presentation to a large audience of faculty and students. These projects were:
- Ottoman-Aceh relations in the 16th century- Doan Tung Anh (K58, Department of History).
- Confucian classics from a Buddhist perspective through an examination of their works.""The Commentary on the Doctrine of the Mean by Master Ouyi"Pham Doan Phuong (K58 Han Nom Studies, Faculty of Literature).
- Deduction in Vietnamese conversation (based on 80 jokes)Doan Canh Tuan (K58, Faculty of Linguistics).
- The reception of Chinese romance novels among Vietnamese youth in the last five years.(2011-2015).
- The influence of Facebook on current student learning (case study of students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi)- Nguyen Lan Nguyen, Nguyen Thi Viet Linh (K57, Faculty of Sociology).

Mr. Pham Huy Cuong, M.Sc. - Deputy Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs, presented certificates of merit to the award-winning students.
The school awarded 20 first prizes, 30 second prizes, and 45 third prizes to outstanding scientific works by students.
The team awards include:
- First Prize: Faculty of Literature.
- Second Prize: Faculty of Linguistics, Faculty of Information and Library Science.
- Third Prize: Faculty of Journalism and Communication, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Faculty of Political Science.

Dr. Tran Bach Hieu - Secretary of the University's Youth Union, presented certificates of merit from the Youth Union to the students who received the Green Torch Award.
The three projects that received the most support from the online community are:
- Accessibility of information regarding the activities of the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities..
- Awareness and preparation of students at Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities regarding the formation of the ASEAN Community..
- A survey of language in weather forecast reports (broadcast on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Television during the first three months of 2016).
The Student Union also awarded the Green Torch prize to 7 research projects that were of good quality and significant to the student movement, including:
