Five scientific works of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities received the VNU Science and Technology Award for the period 2011-2015

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Dai Duong said that VNU has achieved many outstanding scientific and technological achievements. These scientific and technological activities have supported the mission of training high-quality human resources and nurturing talents, creating many top products associated with solving practical life problems, promoting international publication and increasing commercialization and technology transfer.

The Deputy Minister of Science and Technology said that VNU has had the right orientation for science and technology activities and hopes that VNU will continue to take the lead in developing a startup system associated with science and technology and training.

Permanent Vice President of VNU Nguyen Kim Son said that Science and Technology Day is an occasion to honor the values ​​of science and technology, to honor scientists, and to promote scientific values. Science and technology and education have gone hand in hand for many years and these are areas that are significant to the development of the country. Having more scientists and many award-winning projects shows that VNU is increasingly realizing its policy of becoming a research-oriented university.

The establishment of a system of key laboratories and the launch of an international-class journal are proofs that VNU has invested in science and has the right orientations for investing in science and technology in the new situation.

In 2016, for the first time, VNU organized a planning of laboratories associated with the training sectors and majors of VNU. This is the basis for determining laboratories for investment and development. Key laboratories are places where scientists grow rapidly, research groups and scientific schools are soon formed, and students are guided. The laboratory system is also a place to support VNU's training activities.

At the ceremony, Permanent Vice President of VNU Nguyen Kim Son presented the VNU Science and Technology Award for the period 2011-2015 to 10 clusters of science and technology projects, including 05 scientific projects of scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

These are particularly outstanding scientific and technological works and clusters of works, of high scientific stature and practical significance, representing the scientific and technological activities of VNU. The products awarded this time have well combined the viewpoints of practical research and international integration; basic research and technology development at a high level and the viewpoint of applied research with high scientific content.

On this occasion, VNU also awarded Certificates of Merit from the President of VNU to scientists with outstanding achievements in science and technology activities in 2016: Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh - University of Natural Sciences; Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoang Minh - University of Education; Dr. Vu Duy Linh and Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Institute of Information Technology.

Vice President of VNU Nguyen Huu Duc presented the Decision to representatives of 07 key laboratories at VNU level, including: Key Laboratory of Analytical Technology for Environmental Testing and Food Safety at VNU level; Key Laboratory of Geo-Environment and Climate Change Response at VNU level; Key Laboratory of Bio-Energy Development at VNU level; Key Laboratory of Multi-scale Computational Science for Complex Systems at VNU level; Key Laboratory of Advanced Materials Applied in Green Development at VNU level; Key Laboratory of Micro and Nano Technology at VNU level and Key Laboratory of Intelligent Integrated Systems at VNU level.
