SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT THE MASTER'S PROGRAM IN MEDIA MANAGEMENT 1. I currently do not have the English certificate required for admission. Can I submit my application first and then supplement it later? Applicants can apply first, and provide their English certificate later. However, the English certificate must be completed before the course starts. 2.I do not have a bachelor's degree related to journalism, communications, etc., so I need to take a conversion course. How long is this course and what is the tuition fee? If the applicant’s bachelor’s degree is not in one of the three majors, journalism, public relations, or multimedia communications, he/she must have at least 01 year of work experience related to journalism – communications and complete a short-term conversion course organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The conversion course is to supplement specialized knowledge and lasts about 01 month. The tuition fee of this course will be based on the number of students registered. 3. I am currently working full-time and am concerned about my study time. Can I work and attend the course at the same time? What time of day is the schedule arranged? Classes are scheduled on weekday evenings from 6pm, or on weekends. Class schedules will be announced in advance so that students have time to arrange their work schedules. Therefore, studying and working at the same time is completely possible. 4.How many times and when is the tuition fee paid? Does the school offer scholarships to students? Tuition fees are paid in two installments, at the beginning and mid-course. The Master of Media Management program does not currently offer scholarships. However, tuition fees in Vietnam are 50% lower than in the UK, with the same training content. Students also do not have to pay extra for travel and accommodation. Therefore, compared to studying a similar program in the UK, with similar lecturers, students save 70% of the total cost. 5.Even though I have the certificate, I am still not really confident with my English ability. Does the program have Vietnamese professional support staff? All courses will be taught by leading Stirling professors. The program also has a team of teaching assistants and advisors who are Vietnamese lecturers and experts in journalism and media. When writing a graduation thesis, in addition to Stirling's supervisor, students will have an additional Vietnamese supervisor. 6.Since I study in Vietnam, I wonder how students can exploit resources, textbooks, etc.? Each student will be given an online account to access and exploit the training resources of the University of Stirling, like any student studying at Stirling. These resources include not only textbooks, reference books... but also consulting services, training support and other services. In addition, students can also exploit the existing resources at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. 7. Does the programme include any study in the UK? Are there any student exchange programmes? Currently, the training program is fully in Vietnam and there are no plans for student exchange. However, if desired, students can go to the UK to attend the graduation ceremony and receive their degree at the University of Stirling (Scotland, UK). |
