The person who had the greatest influence on me during my 4 years of university was Ms. Nguyen Thu Giang, who was my thesis advisor. She guided me on a new and unique topic with great enthusiasm and dedication. She was the one who helped me gain the basic knowledge of social critical thinking skills.

During my four years at university, I spent a lot of time participating in social activities outside of the university. Some international volunteer exchange programs include Global Passport – Attendee, YSEALI – member, “Green Knights Day” event. I participated in activities in the Communications Committee. In addition, I often attended talks on human rights issues, organized by the US Embassy. Participating in these activities gave me the opportunity to express my personal opinions, communicate with foreigners, improve my foreign language skills and the ability to raise and solve problems.

In the near future, I hope to have the opportunity to study abroad at a higher level to continuously develop myself. For me, if you have enough determination, you can do it. I always have goals for myself at each stage and always tell myself to try my best to achieve them.”.

17. Nguyen Thi Anh - Valedictorian of Information Technology

Studying at the University of Humanities was a “fate” for me. Before taking the university entrance exam, I saw my close friend sitting at the same table applying for the Humanities, so I thought about finding out about the majors there. I found the Information Technology major quite interesting, so I enrolled.

Being a student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a great pride for me. I have set my own learning goals throughout my 4 years of study and tried to complete them. As a student, I have to study and research by myself, dare to think, find new things and confidently affirm them to everyone. In addition, during the learning process, I also need to proactively develop learning methods, learn how to work in groups, be confident when presenting and debating. In addition to learning from books and learning from the knowledge imparted by teachers, I also accumulate practical knowledge about the field of study through the process of surveying and doing practical exercises in libraries.

During my 4 years at school, in addition to class hours, I also participated in activities such as: Green Humanities, volunteer activities organized annually by the Faculty of Library Information, and participated in scientific research.

I always tell myself that "Success is not how much money you earn, not how much luxury car you can buy, not how many countries you can travel to or how many numbers you have in your account, but success is when many people doubt you, you still dare to choose to live your own path that you desire.”.

18.Nguyen Thi Bich - Valedictorian of Vietnamese Studies

  • Current job: Hotel operations staff at Vntrip.vn.

I think the most important thing in the university process is to study by yourself and be conscious in studying. If you consider it an interesting thing, studying will be easier.

I chose the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language because of my love for Vietnamese culture. What I like most is the opportunity to interact and meet with foreign students studying at the Faculty.

I always believe that studying is the most important thing, so I made a plan early. While studying, I continued to experience, learn, constantly challenge myself and enjoy life. I think "If you have a clear roadmap with a specific plan, you will be closer to your dream."Hey".

19. Doan Canh Tuan – Valedictorian of Languages

  • Year of birth: 1995.

  • Major: Linguistics (Faculty of Linguistics).
  • GPA: 3.48 (Excellent).

Encouragement Prize for Student Scientific Research 2014-2015.

First Prize of School-level Student Research Competition 2015.

Second Prize of Ministry-level Student Research Competition 2016-2017.

Posco Korea Scholarship 2015-2016.

5 Good Students of VNU, school year 2015-2016.

5 Good Students of Hanoi City 2016-2017.

My difficulty when I first started university was that I had to get used to general subjects, subjects with a large amount of academic knowledge. With those subjects, I had to concentrate highly in class and study from the beginning so that at the end of the semester I wouldn’t have to struggle with making outlines and taking exams. Studying at university has greatly trained my ability to self-study. Especially the group assignments that teachers gave me at home helped me to improve my skills such as finding documents, making slides or giving presentations, etc.

In my opinion, general knowledge may not be used in your future work, but it is the foundational knowledge that helps you think more logically and scientifically in all matters. Therefore, I do not take lightly the study of general subjects.

I really like teaching. My plan is that after taking the IELTS test, I will be able to work as a teaching assistant for an English center and become an English teacher in the future.”.
