According to Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training, the Master's program in Journalism and Communication Management is an interdisciplinary program between journalism - communication science and management science. For the first time in Vietnam, students are awarded a Master's degree in Journalism and Communication Management - different from the training programs at some current training institutions that still grant a Master's degree in Journalism and the new transcript shows the major in Management/Press Management).
The program covers theoretical and practical knowledge of media management in three areas: political communication, media economics and mass media culture. In particular, with the credit training form, the training program is optimally designed so that students can complete the course and receive a degree after 18 months.
The program is highly “open” as it is suitable for all university graduates, including graduates from related majors and other majors who need to complete a knowledge conversion course.
The implementation of training for MSc. Journalism and Media Management continues to expand with new training programs, meeting the social needs that the Institute has built in recent times.
With the basic and fundamental knowledge, both theoretical and practical, with interdisciplinary nature between journalism and communication science, management science, political science, economics, etc., graduates have the capacity to work in the field of journalism and communication management, consulting and advising on journalism and communication policy planning at press management, leadership and direction agencies; managing journalism and communication activities; managing journalism and communication at journalism and communication agencies; managing communication activities at agencies, units, enterprises, organizations, etc.

Previously, the Institute has successfully built the Master of Journalism training program with application orientation and the high-quality Bachelor of Journalism training program with social orientation, receiving positive feedback from public opinion.
In 2018, the Institute launched Master of Applied Journalism training courses in Vinh Long and Ca Mau; in 2019, it opened 3 more classes in Da Nang, Vinh Long and Binh Duong.
The school hopes that the Master of Journalism and Media Management training program, which has been built and enrolled for the first time, will continue to be a quality product, not only attracting students but also contributing to creating a unique mark and identity in the training activities of the Institute.
