The organization of the 2016 VNU University of Management Examination and Admissions is specifically as follows:
I. Exam organization
1. Exam subjects
a) The Competency Assessment Test (DGAT) consists of 140 multiple-choice questions. The test duration is 195 minutes. Candidates complete the DGAT in one session of each test period. The DGAT results are valid for admission to VNU and to universities and colleges not affiliated with VNU that have announced the use of the DGAT results and have been approved by VNU for admission. The DGAT results are retained for 24 months from the test date.
b) The foreign language test is one of the subjects of English (D1), Russian (D2), French (D3), Chinese (D4), German (D5) and Japanese (D6) consisting of 80 multiple-choice questions. The test duration is 90 minutes. The results of the foreign language test are only valid in the year of the test for admission to the University of Foreign Languages (ULIS) under VNU and to universities and colleges not under VNU that have announced the use of foreign language test results for admission.
2. Exam content and format
a) The knowledge content of the exam is from the high school program, mainly the grade 12 program.
b) Exam format
Candidates take the National High School Exam and foreign language exam directly on the computer.
3. Exam location
VNU organizes the 2016 National High School Graduation Exam in the cities of Hanoi, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Da Nang.
4. Exam date, exam schedule
The 2016 National High School Exam was held in two sessions.
a) Phase 1: From May 5, 2016 to May 8, 2016 and
From May 13, 2016 to May 15, 2016;
b) Phase 2: From August 5, 2016 to August 15, 2016.
5. Register for the contest
a) Contest subjects and conditions
- People who have completed high school; people who have graduated from high school; people who have graduated from vocational secondary school, vocational secondary school and have a high school diploma; people who have graduated from vocational secondary school and vocational secondary school but do not have a high school diploma must study and be recognized as having completed cultural subjects in the high school education program;
- Candidates are not under disciplinary suspension from taking the exam; must register and submit all required documents and registration fees in full, in accordance with procedures and on time.
b) Exam registration
- Candidates who register for the National High School Exam if they wish to register for training units of VNU or for universities and colleges not affiliated with VNU that have announced the use of National High School Exam results for admission.
- For candidates wishing to register for admission to the University of Languages and International Studies under VNU or to universities and colleges not under VNU that have announced the use of foreign language test results for admission, in addition to registering for the National High School Exam, candidates must register for a foreign language test appropriate to the entry requirements of each training major.
c) Time of registration
- Phase 1 from 8:00 a.m. March 2, 2016 to 5:00 p.m. March 22, 2016;
- Phase 2 from 8:00 a.m. June 15, 2016 to 5:00 p.m. June 25, 2016.
Candidates register according to the prescribed time of each exam session and can register for all exam sessions.
d) Form of registration
Candidates register online on the website of the Testing Center at: http://www.cet.vnu.edu.vn, section "Register for the capacity assessment test".
d) Registration documents
Candidates must complete all information in the Registration Form posted on the website of the Testing Center at: http://www.cet.vnu.edu.vn, section "Register for the National High School Exam".
e) Exam fees
Exam fees are implemented according to Official Dispatch No. 18844/BTC-HCSN dated December 18, 2015 of the Ministry of Finance:
- National High School Exam fee: 200,000 VND/candidate/exam;
- Foreign language exam fee: 150,000 VND/candidate/exam.
Candidates can pay exam fees in two ways:
- Deposit into the Testing Center's account via Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV) under the registration code.
- Submit directly at the Testing Center (3rd floor, building C1T, 144 Xuan Thuy, Cau Giay, Hanoi).
II. Recruitment work
Basically, the admission plan to training units under VNU remains stable as in 2015.
1. Admission objects
People who have completed the high school program and graduated from high school in the year of registration; people who have graduated from high school; people who have graduated from professional secondary school, vocational secondary school and have a high school diploma; people who have graduated from professional secondary school and vocational secondary school but do not have a high school diploma must study and be recognized as having completed the high school education program not during the disciplinary period according to the Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
2. Admission forms
VNU admits students in the following forms: direct admission, direct admission, priority admission and admission.
- Direct admission and direct admission of qualified candidates according to the Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
- Priority is given to candidates who do not use the right to direct admission according to the Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. These candidates must participate in the National High School Exam and meet the input quality assurance threshold prescribed by VNU.
- Direct admission is given to candidates who are students of specialized high schools who have graduated from high school and won official prizes in the exam for excellent high school students at VNU level and candidates who have achieved the title of excellent student in each school year in all 3 years of high school, graduated from high school with honors or higher, and have good conduct in 3 years of high school.
- Admission is based on the results of the National High School Exam, foreign language exam and the results of the assessment of candidates' academic ability from other recruitment sources for some specific training majors/programs.
3. Admission time:VNU organizes two admission rounds.
- Phase 1: Expected at the end of July 2016. Admission for candidates taking the National High School Exam and foreign language exam for the University of Foreign Languages according to the requirements of the training unit and meeting the input quality assurance threshold prescribed by VNU.
- Phase 2: Expected at the end of August 2016. Additional admission for candidates taking the National High School Exam and foreign language assessment. VNU considers admission for candidates using the results of the national high school exam (if there are any remaining targets) meets the input quality assurance threshold prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and VNU. VNU has a written report to the Ministry before the second round of admission by forms other than the National High School Exam.
Remove the content of the admission score of the next round being higher than the previous round.
4. Application for admission
Candidates can register for a maximum of 2 majors in order of priority (1st and 2nd choices) of the same training unit under VNU. The specific number of choices is determined by the Admissions Council (AEC) of member units under VNU.
Candidates are allowed to change their admission wishes within the prescribed time to change their wishes within the same unit they submitted or to register for admission to another training unit.
5.Application form
Candidates can register online through the VNU admission portal or send the registration form by post.
Candidates can change their registration wishes directly at the training unit or cancel their registration online (not implementedCancellation of Registrationby mail).
6.Requirements for exam subjects used in admission
Candidates use the exam results to apply to units under VNU as follows:
- Admission to standard training programs of training units under VNU (except for the University of Languages and International Studies).
- Admission to the University of Foreign Languages: Using the results of the National High School Exam and the results of the foreign language test.
- Admission to high-quality, international-standard talent training programs of VNU.
