On March 4, a number of councils responded to the School Magazine about the results of the agreement on calculating a maximum of 01 point for a project.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, is delivering the opening speech at the meeting.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, provided some information about the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities to the delegates.

Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities is the first independent journal in Hanoi National University. Currently, the journal has published 04 issues (03 issues in 2015 and 1 issue in 2016). In the near future, Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities will be listed in the prestigious journals in the world (SCOPUS and ISI).

Expressing optimism about the magazine's future development direction, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh shared: The magazine is a scientific product that continues the tradition; has a team of experienced, high-quality editorial boards (including 6 leading scholars in the world); is interested in, supported by the collective of staff, lecturers, and school leaders and has strong faith in its development.

"In the future, the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities hopes to receive support and contributions of articles from professors of the Councils of Professor Titles of the industry and interdisciplinary fields," Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh shared.

After the opening speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, provided delegates with information on the magazine's recent performance and asked for opinions from representatives of the state, industry, and interdisciplinary professorship councils.

Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang shared at the meeting

Appreciating the efforts of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in pioneering activities, building a separate magazine for the University, Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang shared more about the difficult journey that the University needs to identify in the coming time.

Investing and developing a magazine is like raising a child. Whether the child grows up or not is what matters. Therefore, the School needs to have specific development directions.

According to Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang, the School Journal should consider quality as the top priority. In addition, it should maintain principles in its operations such as: the review process, the publishing process...

As a multidisciplinary, multi-field journal, should the School Journal build up spearheads in research, avoiding ineffective spreading? Professor, Dr. Vu Minh Giang suggested.

Professor, Dr. Vu Minh Giang proposed to calculate a maximum of 01 point for a work published in the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities.

As someone who has participated in reviewing and writing articles for the Magazine, Professor and People's Teacher Vu Duong Ninh highly appreciated the review process which was serious, professional and rigorous.

The development of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities is a continuation of a process, linked to the development from the tradition of the University of General Sciences, now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU. The journal has gone beyond the value of simply publishing in Vietnamese, aiming at the value of international publishing, which is something to be respected, and needs to be invested in, supported and strongly developed. This will contribute to overcoming the weaknesses of Vietnamese journals, promoting the promotion of Vietnamese research to the international community.

Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nhung, General Secretary of the State Council for Professors, is giving comments to the magazine.

Pointing out a reality in Vietnam, there are only 03 journals with 100% of council members having scientific publications in ISI-indexed journals, besides 10 councils with 100% of members having no one ever published in ISI-indexed journals. This partly shows that the indigenous factor of Vietnamese scientists is still relatively high, said Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nhung, General Secretary of the State Council for Professors.

Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nhung shared his joy, welcomed and supported the formation, development and international orientation of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities. But to achieve that, the road ahead is still very difficult, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nhung shared: Forming a journal is difficult, but the process of nurturing and creating its influence is many times more difficult.

After some comments on the form of the journal, Professor Tran Van Nhung also expressed his support for calculating a maximum of 01 point for a work published in the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities publishes 06 issues/year, including 04 issues in Vietnamese and 02 issues in English, each issue has a maximum capacity of 200 pages and 500 copies/issue are distributed.

As of March 2016, the Journal has published 04 issues (03 in Vietnamese and 01 in English) with 33 research articles, 4 book reviews and scientific information.

The journal has been sent to the Global Vietnam Research Network; units in the university, VNU, major libraries, research centers - research institutes related to social sciences and humanities in Vietnam.

The Journal's website is built based on the Open Journal Management open source system, which is compatible with exporting to international databases. Currently, the journal's articles are listed in the citation systems of Google Scholars, Worldcat, Openarchives... and other databases.

The mission of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities is to be a forum for academic exchange, introducing new and high-quality scientific research results of social sciences and humanities at home and abroad to serve the cause of national construction and development, promoting international integration in the context of globalization.

With the common goal of building the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities into a leading journal in Vietnam, listed among prestigious journals in the world (SCOPUS and ISI), considering novelty, honesty, objectivity and creativity as the core operating principles of the Journal, contributing to the cause of national construction and development in the context of international integration.

By 2025, the Journal strives to achieve international standards in the list of leading prestigious scientific journals in the region and the world (SCOPUS by Elservier and Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) by Thomson Reuter).
