Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities
Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice Rector of the University - shared the joy of the University's 2016 Admissions Counseling Board in accompanying, advising, and answering questions for parents and students regarding major orientation, application requirements for the University's faculties, career prospects, and employment opportunities.
Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan stated:Traditional foundations and modern knowledge for the development of the community and the country's international integration."This has been the guiding principle throughout the school's development over the years." In line with this spirit, the school has developed 24 standard undergraduate programs and 6 high-quality undergraduate programs. The school has a diverse range of training disciplines: from basic sciences (Philosophy, History, Literature, Linguistics, etc.) to modern applied sciences (Sociology, Management Science, Journalism, International Studies, Oriental Studies, etc.). Following the recent opening of new programs such as Public Relations, Hotel Management, Office Management, etc., which effectively meet societal demands and attract the attention of many students, in 2016, the school decided to enroll students in two new programs: Religious Studies and Library Science. These two programs are of significant importance to the development of modern society and are built upon the strengths of over 20 years of specialized training in Religious Studies within the Philosophy program and Library Science within the Library Science program. - The Department of Information and Library Science. The opening of these new majors demonstrates the University's efforts and pioneering spirit in getting closer to the needs of society and learners, while also aiming to fill the gaps in human resource needs in many new fields in the labor market.

MSc. Dinh Viet Hai - Deputy Head of Training Department
From another perspective, according to Mr. Dinh Viet Hai, students have only focused on exam policy issues and haven't asked many in-depth questions about the fields of study, such as: what jobs can you get after graduating from that field, what are the required skills, etc. This is extremely important information that students need to research and carefully consider to make the right decision when choosing a field of study. In addition, students need to pay attention to how to participate in admissions counseling programs, how to gather information from multiple sources to choose a field and profession that suits their abilities, interests, and aspirations. Mr. Dinh Viet Hai shared that he also expects students to ask questions that demonstrate a broader perspective, connected to the practical development of society, such as: how is the training of social sciences and humanities in the context of today's rapid integration? How will the emergence of the TPP, the ASEAN community, etc., affect Vietnam's job market? What opportunities and challenges will they bring to workers? These are all seemingly "big" issues, but they are closely related to your future.

MSc. Dao Minh Quan - Deputy Head of Training Department
According to MSc. Dao Minh Quan, one of the important pieces of information that students need to consider before deciding on a university is the conditions and advantages that the training environment offers. For the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, these advantages include: After completing their first year, students have the opportunity to pursue a second major in Journalism, Management Science, Tourism and Travel Service Management, or International Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, or in English or Chinese at the University of Foreign Languages (Vietnam National University, Hanoi). Students who complete the training program in both majors will receive two official bachelor's degrees… In particular, after becoming students of the University, they also have the opportunity to apply to high-quality training programs such as Management Science, History, Linguistics, Psychology, Philosophy, and Literature with superior learning and research conditions. Furthermore, thanks to the university's extensive partnerships with over 220 reputable partners in the region and around the world, students have the opportunity to receive many valuable scholarships outside of the official budget, such as the Lotte Scholarship (USD 200), Chung Soo Scholarship (USD 250), AEON Japan Scholarship (USD 290), Pony Chung Scholarship (USD 500), and SMBC Scholarship (USD 500)....Most importantly, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, with its more than 70-year tradition of training and scientific research in the field of social sciences and humanities, along with its team of leading scientists, is an extremely favorable condition to equip students with foundational knowledge, creative abilities, analytical and synthetic thinking skills and methods, and many other soft skills that are extremely important in today's highly competitive labor market.

Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Huong, M.Sc. - University Admissions Specialist
Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Huong shared that she was extremely excited because this was the first year she had participated in online college admissions counseling for students. She said that in addition to trying to receive and answer questions as quickly, accurately, and meticulously as possible, she also sought to understand the students' information needs, concerns, and even the specific psychology and thoughts of young people before making an important decision in their lives. This helped her understand and empathize more with the students, thereby improving the effectiveness of her counseling work.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, M.Sc. - University Admissions Specialist
Mr. Nguyen Van Hong has many years of experience in university admissions at the school and has also spent a lot of time accompanying and understanding the concerns and thoughts of candidates throughout the admissions seasons. He shared his view that counseling, providing information, and two-way interaction between candidates and training institutions before the entrance exam is extremely important. This is because it is the first point of interaction between the university and its potential candidates, helping both sides understand each other and find common ground in their needs. Candidates receive counseling to better understand themselves, reorient their needs and aspirations, and find a suitable major and school. The university also understands the thoughts and feelings of the students, thereby providing accurate advice and opening up opportunities to choose candidates who are both capable and passionate about the school's programs.

While the 2016 university admissions online counseling activities were in full swing, outside on campus, humanities students were enthusiastically participating in the Humanities Youth Festival with spectacular performances.

They are confident that the enthusiasm, friendliness, and dedication of the faculty will encourage prospective students to be more confident in interacting and seeking necessary information about the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular, and about career opportunities and the labor market in general.
