Social Sciences and Humanities attract great interest from candidates
According to MSc. Nguyen Van Hong (Training Department specialist) - one of the staff responsible for advising candidates - this year, the number of students and parents visiting the School's consulting booth was much higher than last year. More than 4,000 leaflets with brief, concise information about the School were distributed at the TVTS festival. More than a thousand people were directly advised about career opportunities and how to choose a career at the School.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai - Vice President of VNU and Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities directly direct the enrollment consulting activities.
According to Dr. Pham Huy Cuong (Deputy Head of Student Affairs and Student Affairs Department), the top concern of students this year is the innovations in the 2017 university admissions process. Accordingly, the school will consider admission based on the results of the 2017 national high school exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and the results of the valid capacity assessment exam organized by VNU. Students taking the 2017 national high school exam will be considered for admission based on the announced national high school exam subject combination, according to the principle of taking the total score (including regional and subject priorities) from high to low until the quota is filled. There are 4 exam/subject combinations used for admission, including: C00 (Literature, History, Geography), D01-D06 (Mathematics, Literature, Foreign Languages), D78-D83 (Literature, Foreign Languages, Social Sciences), A00 (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry). For students who took the National High School Exam two years ago, the admission is based on total score (including regional and subject priority) from high to low until the quota is filled.
The school also directly admits students who won first, second, and third prizes in the national excellent student selection exam, national science and technology competition, and have graduated from high school according to the current regular university admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
At this year's TVTS festival, we noted the candidates' interest in social sciences and humanities.
In addition, students are also particularly interested in the admission scores of previous years and the career opportunities of each major after graduation. According to the general perception, this year's candidates have been proactive in finding information about the University, as well as planning the specific major they choose. As a leading university with a tradition and high reputation in training in Social Sciences and Humanities, with a diverse and comprehensive system of Social Sciences and Humanities majors, from basic, traditional sciences to new, modern, highly international majors, meeting social needs, the University has many advantages in reaching a large number of candidates. The "hot" majors of the University still retain a strong attraction to society when many candidates are interested in learning about them such as Journalism, Public Relations, Oriental Studies, International Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Linguistics, Anthropology, Tourism and Travel Management, etc.
More than 4000 leaflets about the School were distributed to candidates.
In addition, the teachers also shared with the students about the attractive points in the current training activities of the School such as the credit training method with the advantages of flexibility, strong connectivity, creating initiative in learning, shortening study time, increasing competitiveness in finding jobs in the market. Becoming a student of the School, students have the opportunity to be directly admitted or given priority in admission to high-quality training programs in the fields of Management Science, History, Linguistics, Psychology, Philosophy, Literature with excellent learning conditions. In addition, the implementation of dual degree training provides the opportunity to study two degrees at the same time, also helping to optimize time and diversify the choices of learners.
Diversify TVTS channels
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities said: Since 2016, the training organization process and especially the admission activities of the University have been strongly innovated in the direction of simplifying the process, promoting direct interaction and grasping the needs and aspirations of learners. The University has built a professional and independent admission department, based on the spirit: Admissions and TVTS are regular and year-round work, not just seasonal and periodic activities. This is the first and very important activity in the entire training process, greatly determining the quality of training activities. The goal is to bring complete, clear and transparent information about the University to students. Candidates are consulted by experienced experts to clearly understand their abilities and strengths and choose the right major. Thereby. The University also recruits candidates with good qualifications and passion for the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The beauty of students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities
To meet the information needs of learners, the School has implemented diverse communication and TVTS activities through many channels: directly participating in counseling at high schools in the North; sending career counseling experts to work at key high schools; organizing periodic online admission counseling sessions; directly answering questions for candidates 24/7 via email, Facebook, hotline... The Student Ambassador Program, which has been implemented for many years, continues to be promoted. Students studying at the School will be organized into volunteer teams to return to high schools in the provinces and cities. They are the School's ambassadors, helping to bring information and the friendly, close image of the School closer to students.
