It continues to guide its members and students to have a correct and firm understanding of political ideology, to possess strong character and responsibility towards themselves and the community; to cultivate outstanding members with noble ideals to be recommended to the Party for consideration and admission; and to affirm the leading position of the University's Youth Union in political and ideological education within the Youth Union and youth movement of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the City of Hanoi.

Activities supporting learning and scientific research for union members have been diversified in both form and content and maintained effectively. Emphasis has begun to be placed on career guidance, connecting union members with partner businesses, helping them access job opportunities, and contributing to increased employment prospects for union members and students after graduation.
