Announcement of Conclusions from the September 2025 briefing session

On August 29, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its annual meeting. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan chaired the meeting, which was attended by the Party Secretary, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the Vice Rectors, the Secretaries and Deputy Secretaries of the Party branches, the Heads and Deputy Heads of the units, the Chief Accountant, the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal, and the leaders of the various mass organizations.
After listening to the opinions and discussions at the briefing meeting on the following topics:
(1) Report on the implementation of work in August 2025 and the work plan for September 2025; (2) Report on the implementation of the Rector's conclusions at the August 2025 work review meeting; (3) Exchange and discussion among units and functional departments; (4) Opinions of the Vice-Rectors; The Rector concluded:
1. Organizational structure and personnel:Continue to refine the departmental structure model to support training management and create conditions for lecturers to develop their academic expertise.
- Regarding scientific personnel:The units will develop solutions to create favorable conditions and professional working spaces to "retain" and attract good scientific staff from outside to the University. The University will be flexible in arranging and assigning scientific staff to ensure the best utilization of professional capacity and alignment with the development direction of the ngành/faculty/university.
ButRegarding administrative staff:Continue to make adjustments and transfers to leverage strengths and improve work efficiency.
2. Training activities:
- Admissions:Complete the university admissions process and organize a review to learn from experience and set directions for the following year, while proactively providing early information about the university's admission methods and subject combinations.
- International training:Promote the implementation of a coordinated approach between specialized units and relevant administrative units to utilize the school's shared resources (not necessarily assigning tasks to only one unit).
- Domestic training partnerships:Implement standardization according to the formal training model.
- Training organization:Continue to improve the quality of training and ensure the rights of learners.
- Training programComplete the procedures, paying particular attention to the feedback from the Standing Committee of the University's Science and Training Council regarding foreign language proficiency and elective credits. For the Japanese Studies major, the University recommends that the Faculty of Oriental Studies set standards according to the Ministry of Education and Training to ensure the rights of students. If the Faculty of Oriental Studies wishes to set higher output standards, it must reach a consensus within the leadership team and submit a formal request to the University for justification. Furthermore, the Faculty of Oriental Studies will be responsible for any problems that may arise during the training and graduation process of students.
- Video lecture moduleTo be finalized for early implementation in practice.
- Opening of the new school year:Follow the general schedule of the education sector and align with the school's activities.
3. Science - Foreign Relations:
- Instruct the Science Department to finalize the management documents according to the plan, so that they can be implemented in practice.
- Promote key scientific activities based on the contents stipulated in the upcoming Resolution on Science and Technology.
- Prepare to organize a national scientific conference/seminar on the development orientation of social sciences and humanities in October 2025.
- Publishing Textbooks and Series of Books: The school will invest a certain amount of funding for departments to organize book launch seminars after publication. For series of books, there should be a book launch and introductory article; for textbooks, there should at least be an introductory article. The Department of Science, Technology & Finance will act as the focal point and coordinate the schedule for specialized units to organize and implement these activities, while also coordinating appropriate communication and promotion.
4. Other tasks:Follow the plan that has been issued.
We request that the Board of Directors regularly monitor and direct all aspects of work, strengthen inspection work, and report to the Principal on the progress of implementing the plan and tasks within their respective areas of responsibility. We request that functional departments proactively implement and ensure timely completion, especially for key activities.
Heads of units are requested to widely disseminate and implement the Rector's conclusions from the monthly briefing sessions seriously, fully, and on schedule.
At the September 2025 briefing meeting, the school's leadership announced and presented decisions regarding personnel and management appointments in functional departments, institutes/faculties/centers.
