(Hanoi Television) Vietnam National University, Hanoi: Pioneering Innovation

With a history spanning over 120 years, Vietnam National University, Hanoi aims to become a leading training and research center in the country and the region, and to be among the top 200 universities globally.

On the afternoon of August 20th, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh held a working session with Hanoi National University regarding the implementation of Resolution No. 18 on restructuring and streamlining the organizational apparatus and Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
Reporting at the meeting, the leaders of Vietnam National University, Hanoi stated that the university has completed the restructuring and streamlining of its member and affiliated units; significantly reducing the number of departments from 36 to 25, achieving a reduction rate of over 30%. The university's administrative body alone has been reduced from 11 to 7 functional departments. Simultaneously, the university established the Institute for Digital Training and Testing, the VNU-TIP High-Tech and Innovation Park, and adjusted personnel and restructured the Party organization.
In implementing Resolution 57, Hanoi National University has placed particular emphasis on developing a "three-party" cooperation model: State – University – Enterprise. The university has established three key research institutes focusing on semiconductors and advanced materials, quantum technology, and artificial intelligence applied in sustainable development, thereby promoting research, technology transfer, and commercialization of scientific and technological results.
In his remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highly appreciated the innovative efforts of Hanoi National University in implementing Resolutions 18 and 57. He emphasized that organizational restructuring should not be about mechanical streamlining, but rather about being "compact yet efficient," forming new models in strategic fields such as semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, and quantum technology.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the effective connection between training and practice is a highlight, with many businesses participating in ordering and recruiting students even while they are still in school. He also affirmed that Hanoi National University, with its 120-year history, will continue to play a pioneering role, meeting the expectations of the Politburo, becoming a leading university in the country and the region, aiming to be among the top 200 universities in the world in the near future.
