In recent days, many candidates who did not get accepted into their first choice but achieved the minimum admission score of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (Group A: 16, Group B: 195, Group C: 18, Group D: 17) have asked the following question: "Will the university automatically transfer these candidates to other majors that still have available slots and have a cutoff score equal to or lower than the score the candidate achieved?"

In the 2012 university entrance exam for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the shift in the number of applications for each subject group and the university's training programs reflects changes in societal demand for these fields. Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu - Chairman of the 2012 Regular University Entrance Examination Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - provided some specific information.

Today, July 9, 2012, 3,909 candidates took the Literature exam for Group C at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' Admissions Board. According to observations at exam locations AB, BC, and G of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, many candidates finished their exams earlier than the scheduled time. Most candidates interviewed commented that the exam was of moderate difficulty and closely followed the curriculum.

This morning, July 9th, 2012, during the Literature exam for Group C at 10 examination centers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' University Admissions Council, 3,909 candidates participated, an increase of 7 candidates compared to yesterday's registration. More than 200 exam cards requiring corrections were completed and sent to candidates before the exam this morning.

On the morning of July 10, 2012, 3,862 candidates took the Geography exam – the final subject of the university entrance exam for Group C – at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' Admissions Board. This represents a decrease of 23 candidates compared to the History exam held the previous afternoon. On average, the number of candidates taking all three subjects reached 73.4% of the registered applicants.
