On October 18, 2024, the International Conference on Knowledge Management: Leadership and Innovation, ICKM2024, took place in Ho Chi Minh City. The conference was co-organized by the Faculty of Library and Information, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-Hanoi (VNU-USS), the Faculty of Library and Information, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM City and the Southern University Library Association. The ICKM2024 conference is within the framework of cooperation to enhance scientific research activities between the two universities of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On October 16, 2024, right at the Hall on the 8th floor of Building E, lecturers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities enjoyed the movie "Doi Cat" - one of the outstanding works of Vietnamese cinema and listened to the sharing on the topic "Women in post-war films". The activity was organized by the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in coordination with the Department of Art Studies, Faculty of Literature.

That is the goal of the series of skills training for all students of courses K66, K67, K68 and K69 on October 16, 18, 23, 25, 2025 organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH). This is one of the activities to improve students' understanding and sense of responsibility for fire prevention and fighting activities and master some basic skills to respond to fire and explosion situations.

On October 8, 2024, at the ceremony to celebrate the 578th anniversary of the promulgation of the Hangeul writing system organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea, Dr. Luu Tuan Anh, Head of the Department of Korean Studies (Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the President of Korea.

On October 8, 2024, the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a ceremony to commend advanced models and honor "Outstanding Capital Citizens" in 2024. Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, former Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council, former Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU, former Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Chairman of the Scientific Training Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was honored as one of the ten Outstanding Capital Citizens.

The book “The British East India Company in Dang Ngoai (1672-1697)” by author Hoang Anh Tuan was first published in the Thang Long Thousand Years of Culture Bookcase in 2010 on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi. In the 2024 reprint, Hanoi Publishing House and the author reviewed and edited the information, continued to supplement the research results, in order to bring readers a relatively comprehensive and updated research work on Dang Ngoai in the second half of the 17th century. At the 9th Hanoi Book Fair in 2024 (September 27-29), the book was officially introduced to readers.
