Vietnamese history has always recorded the contributions of Buddhism to the nation. Over two thousand years of existence in Vietnam, through the ups and downs of history, Vietnamese Buddhism has soon integrated into social life, harmonized with the life, activities, culture, and beliefs of the people and become a religion closely associated with and accompanying the Vietnamese people. In the history of Vietnamese Buddhism, it is impossible not to mention Kinh Bac Buddhism - considered the cradle of Vietnamese Buddhism.

On August 7, 2023, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, VNU-USSH) chaired the August school-wide meeting. The meeting was attended by Vice Rectors, Party Cell Secretaries, Heads of units under the School and leaders of mass organizations.

On August 5 and 6, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) solemnly held a graduation ceremony for nearly 1,600 new bachelors of 27 full-time training majors and 40 new full-time bachelors of the second major.

Nearly 1,600 new bachelors from 27 full-time training majors and 40 new full-time bachelors from the second major of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) received their bachelor's degrees at the solemn graduation ceremony held on August 5 and 6, 2023.

“Making a Difference – Social Work Without Barriers: Towards Sustainable Development and Responding to Emergencies” is the theme of the International Scientific Conference organized by the Faculty of Sociology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, Hanoi for 2 days, August 1-2, 2023.

On August 1, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, China (PolyU) signed a cooperation agreement focusing on cooperation in social work (CTXH), marking a new development step of the social work sector at VNU-USSH in particular and Vietnam in general.

On July 30, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi solemnly held a degree awarding ceremony for new PhDs and new Masters who were recognized for their doctoral and master's degrees in 2023. With the mission of pioneering in training and researching Social Work in Vietnam, the Faculty of Sociology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, in collaboration with partners, organized an international conference with the theme "Make a difference - Social Work without barriers: Towards sustainable development and public emergency response".

Modern social life is seeing the emergence of new religious and belief phenomena that require explanation, evaluation, and correct understanding from the perspective of Religious Science. Therefore, Religious Studies is increasingly important in Vietnam as well as in the world.
