On October 2, 2024, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University (VNU-USSH) received Ms. Innara Guseinova, Vice Rector in charge of Project Work and Youth Policy, Ms. Irina Shokina, Head of the Department of International Cooperation, Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU), Russian Federation.
Also attending the meeting were Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the School Council, Head of Training Department, and representatives of the Department of Cooperation and Development.
Representatives of the two schools discussed cooperation in the fields of training and research, focusing on the exchange of experts and students between the two schools and the joint organization of international scientific conferences on issues of mutual interest.
At the meeting, Vice President Dang Thi Thu Huong introduced the majors currently being trained at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasizing the majors that both sides train together and have much room for cooperation. Vice President Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized: Moscow State Linguistic University as well as many universities in the Russian Federation are always strategic and reliable partners of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Over the years, the two universities have successfully coordinated to organize many activities, typically: opening a joint Vietnamese language training major at MGLU attracting many Russian and international students to study, and participating in the Vietnam - Russian Federation University Rectors' Forum.
“With Vietnam’s long tradition and leading achievements in training Vietnamese for international students, along with a team of leading experts in the fields of social sciences and humanities, based on the strengths and cooperation results of the two schools, we hope that in the coming time, the two sides will expand cooperation in exchanging lecturers and experts; exchanging students to participate in short-term courses or postgraduate studies. In particular, in 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will celebrate its 80th anniversary and 30th anniversary of establishment, we hope that the two sides will have some specific cooperation results to celebrate this important event” – Vice President Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized.

Ms. Innara Guseinova and Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong had an open and friendly discussion about the strengths of the two schools and future cooperation opportunities between Moscow State Linguistic University and University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Ms. Innara Guseinova thanked the representatives of the USSH for sharing interesting information about the training strengths of the University and proposing many specific cooperation contents. “In the Russian Federation, MGLU is considered the leading university in the field of language training with 95 years of experience, currently teaching 40 languages. The University currently has about 80 Vietnamese students studying, of which 50% are language majors. Therefore, we are always ready to welcome students of the USSH to study. At the same time, we will send lecturers or students to participate in Vietnamese language courses and learn about Vietnamese culture at VNU-USSH to promote academic cooperation and enhance friendship between the two sides” – Ms. Innara Guseinova expressed.
Also at the meeting, Irina Shokina, Head of the Department of International Cooperation of Moscow State Linguistic University, proposed to establish a joint research project and share information related to the international conference. Researchers and lecturers from the two universities can share the latest research works and results in the fields in which the two sides have cooperated. In addition, Moscow State Linguistic University wishes to expand the cooperation majors to other fields, not only revolving around language training, such as Political Science, International Relations and Information - Library.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Nam discussed the training cooperation model that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has successfully implemented with many universities around the world.
At the end of the meeting, the leaders of the two schools agreed that the two sides would continue to sign an MOU with specific contents such as student exchange (participating in short-term training courses, summer courses), scientific research and international publication, etc. to serve as a basis for expanding cooperation in the future.
