Vietnamese history has always acknowledged the contributions of Buddhism to the nation. For over two thousand years of existence in Vietnam, enduring the ups and downs of history, Vietnamese Buddhism has integrated into social life, blending seamlessly with the lives, activities, culture, and beliefs of the people, becoming a religion deeply intertwined with and accompanying the Vietnamese nation. In the history of Vietnamese Buddhism, it is impossible not to mention Kinh Bac Buddhism – considered the cradle of Vietnamese Buddhism.

On August 7, 2023, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, VNU-USSH) chaired the August University-wide meeting. The meeting was attended by the Vice Rectors, Secretaries of Party branches, Heads of affiliated units, and leaders of student organizations.

On August 5th and 6th, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) solemnly held its graduation ceremony for nearly 1,600 new graduates from 27 regular full-time programs and 40 new graduates from second-year full-time programs.

Nearly 1,600 new graduates from 27 regular degree programs and 40 new graduates from second degree programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU (VNU-USSH) received their Bachelor's degrees at the solemn graduation ceremony held on August 5th and 6th, 2023.

“Making a Difference – Barrier-Free Social Work: Towards Sustainable Development and Emergency Response” was the theme of the international scientific conference organized by the Faculty of Sociology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, on August 1-2, 2023.

On July 30, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, solemnly held a graduation ceremony for new PhD and Master's graduates who were awarded their degrees in 2023. With a pioneering mission in training and research in Social Work in Vietnam, the Faculty of Sociology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, collaborated with partners to organize an international conference on the theme “Make a difference – Social Work without barriers: In response to sustainable development and public emergency”.

Modern social life is giving rise to new religious and belief phenomena that require proper explanation, evaluation, and understanding from a scientific perspective on religion. Therefore, religious studies is increasingly important in Vietnam as well as around the world.

From July 3rd to July 13th, 2023, a group of students from the Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) participated in a study exchange program at Rikkyo University (Japan).
