On August 1st, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a graduation ceremony for students of the QH-2008-X cohort. Attending the ceremony was Professor Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc, Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The QH-2008-X cohort was the second cohort to be trained entirely under the credit-based system, and there were many changes in the curriculum as well as issues arising in the organization of training. However, the academic results of the QH-2008-X cohort were quite good: out of 1,414 students enrolled, after 4 years of study, 1,199 students were recognized as graduates, accounting for 84.79%, higher than the rate of the QH-2007-X cohort. Notably, by leveraging the advantages of credit-based training, the number of students graduating early in this cohort increased significantly with 177 students, accounting for 13.81%. The QH-2008-X cohort graduated with 1.14% excellent students, 31.24% good students, and 66.31% fair students. The number of students winning research awards accounted for 11.51%. 44 students were admitted to the Party. According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, the QH-2008-X cohort is a particularly significant one, reflecting the clear changes in the university's training activities in recent years. The university has focused its efforts on completing the curriculum adjustments and innovating teaching methods to continuously improve training quality, enhance international integration capabilities, and create high articulation between disciplines. In addition to traditional disciplines, the university has also opened many new programs to meet societal needs. The development of both traditional and new disciplines has made the university's programs more attractive to society. Along with the university's implementation of many positive solutions to deepen the quality of distance learning, students have shown increasingly better adaptation to this training method, particularly in their proactive approach to study planning.

In this context, the QH-2008-X cohort was the first to graduate from two majors: Political Science and Vietnamese Studies; the first cohort to have students graduating with international standards, with 11 students in Linguistics; and the first cohort to have students graduating with dual degrees, with 22 students in Journalism and Tourism Studies. Among the 53 international students graduating this time, 6 students achieved excellent grades, 4 students achieved good grades, and 35 students achieved fair grades. This was also the first cohort in the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language to have 2 international students graduate early. At the ceremony, Professor Nguyen Huu Duc - Vice Director of VNU - praised the outstanding achievements of the faculty and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the past academic year. The University is a pioneering unit within VNU in credit-based training and curriculum transformation.
