On the morning of March 7, 2012, the Department of Psychology held a ceremony to announce the appointment of the Dean and Vice-Deputy Deans of the Department of Psychology for the term 2011-2016.Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu – Vice Rector of the University, leaders of functional departments and units under the University, research institutions, and external partners... At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu presented the appointment decision for the new Head of the Psychology Department to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Khanh Ha, and the Deputy Heads of the Department: Dr. Tran Thu Huong and MSc. Nguyen Van Luot. On behalf of the University leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu congratulated the new Head of the Psychology Department and expressed confidence that under the leadership of the new Head and with the support of the staff of the Psychology Department, training and research activities will be promoted, and the department will develop even more strongly, contributing to the overall development of the University.

Representing the new Faculty Board, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Khanh Ha reviewed the Faculty's development process and expressed gratitude to the generations of teachers and the previous Faculty Board for their contributions to its growth. The new Faculty Board also outlined the development direction for the Psychology Faculty: continuing to build and develop the qualifications and capabilities of the staff; revising undergraduate and postgraduate training programs according to output standards; focusing on developing several research and training directions; and strengthening research and training cooperation. From the Psychology Department of the Philosophy Faculty – Hanoi University, the Psychology Faculty of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) was established in 1997 and was the first psychology faculty in the country to offer a psychology program. From a single bachelor's degree program, the Psychology Faculty now offers all three programs: bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Over the years, the Department of Psychology has trained 112 master's graduates and 778 bachelor's graduates.
