Implement measures to ensure prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Friday - January 29, 2021 09:22
Following the directives of the Prime Minister at the emergency meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control held on the morning of January 28, 2021, at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU); and in accordance with Official Letter No. 180/VNU-CT&CTHSSV dated January 28, 2021, from VNU; given the rapid and complex developments of the COVID-19 epidemic in Hai Duong and Quang Ninh provinces in recent days, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, requests that its units immediately implement the following:
  1. Unit leaders should monitor and closely follow the developments of the epidemic through official mass media, maintaining and ensuring the serious and effective implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures according to updated guidelines and directives from higher levels and the University.
  2. Unit leaders should actively coordinate with the University's Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee in receiving information from students, compiling a list of all staff, students, and postgraduate students who are classified as F2 or F3 within their unit (if any), and sending it to the University's Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee (phone number: 0982036807; email:cuongph.1982@gmail.com) and requested that these individuals strictly follow the home isolation procedures as guided by the Ministry of Health. Individuals classified as F4 or higher can go to work or school as usual, but should proactively implement self-monitoring and disease prevention measures as guided by specialized agencies.
Units must cease activities involving large gatherings; other normal activities must be conducted while ensuring reasonable social distancing, temperature checks, mandatory mask-wearing at all times within the school grounds, use of hand sanitizer, and timely and complete health declarations.
  1. The organization of semester exams needs to be rigorous, ensuring strict adherence to disease prevention measures: wearing masks, measuring body temperature before entering the exam room, using hand sanitizer, and health declarations. If necessary, the Training Department will proactively discuss with training units about changing the assessment method from written exams to essays.
  2. Training units are preparing contingency plans to switch to online teaching and learning when necessary; the Training Department and the Center for Information Technology Application are coordinating with UPM Company (the sponsor of the UPM online teaching platform for the University from January 2020 to January 2022) to review technical conditions and prepare for online teaching and learning in the near future.
  3. In preparation for the Lunar New Year of the Ox 2021, all units should note the following:
5.1 We request that all staff, students, and postgraduate trainees strictly adhere to disease prevention and control measures: avoid or limit travel to areas with outbreaks, limit large gatherings; and encourage celebrating Tet (Lunar New Year) and enjoying the spring festivities with family.
5.2 Compile a list of officials, students, and postgraduate trainees returning to their hometowns in epidemic-affected areas to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) and enjoy the spring festivities, in order to monitor and manage them and implement safety measures when necessary (allowing them to stay at home, conducting online teaching and learning).
  1. The units responsible for environmental sanitation work must ensure that all work areas, lecture halls, libraries, restrooms, parking lots, canteens, etc., have disinfectant, soap, and clean water, and maintain general hygiene.
  2. The Trade Union, Youth Union, Student Association of the University and its units will continue to carry out propaganda and dissemination work to ensure that staff, students, and postgraduate students strictly adhere to the directives of all levels and the University.
The school will assess the evolving situation of the pandemic to provide timely and appropriate guidance.
