1. Admission methods
1.1.Master's degree program admissions
1.1.1. Traditional Entrance ExaminationThis applies to candidates whose majors are relevant/suitable/related/other than those in master's degree programs.
- The entrance examination subjects for master's programs include the Fundamentals exam, the Foundation exam, and the Foreign Language exam.

- Foreign language: Candidates will be tested in one of five languages: English, Russian, French, Chinese, or German. For the Asian Studies major, candidates may register to take the exam in Japanese or Korean.
- Foreign language exam format:See here

Candidates whose foreign language proficiency meets the foreign language exam requirements of the training institution and who fall into one of the following categories are exempt from the foreign language exam:
- Possess a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree obtained from full-time study abroad, with the degree recognized by the competent authority in accordance with current regulations;
- Possess a university degree from an advanced program under the Ministry of Education and Training's plan for advanced training programs at some Vietnamese universities, or a high-quality engineering degree (PFIEV) recognized by the Engineering Degree Accreditation Committee (CTI, France), with a foreign partner co-issuing the degree, or a university degree from an internationally standardized training program, a talent training program, or a high-quality training program of Vietnam National University, Hanoi;
- Holds a university degree in a foreign language.
- Possess a foreign language proficiency certificate equivalent to the levels of the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework used in Vietnam: level 3 for standard VNU master's programs, level 4 for international joint master's programs with degrees awarded by VNU, and level 5 for international standard master's programs. The certificate is valid for 2 years from the date of the foreign language exam to the date of registration for the master's entrance exam and must be issued by an institution recognized by VNU.

1.1.2. Direct admission to master's programs
- Graduates with a GPA of "Good" or higher from a regular university program within the last 12 months (as of the application submission date) in programs offered by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, including: high-quality programs (funded by the state), programs accredited by reputable international accreditation organizations (AUN-QA, ABET, etc.) or Vietnamese accreditation organizations recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training (for enrollment cohorts still within the validity period).
- Individuals who have graduated from a regular university program with a GPA of Excellent or higher within the last 12 months (as of the application submission date) from standard training programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Candidates applying for direct admission to the master's program must meet the foreign language proficiency requirements specified in section 1.1.1. For candidates who do not have proof of the required foreign language proficiency, they must take the Foreign Language exam during the same period as the VNU entrance exam.

2. Application period and entrance exam schedule
2.1 Application period
CandidatesEntrance examination and direct admission to master's programs, and doctoral programs.Register online at:http://tssdh.vnu.edu.vn.Candidates must commit to and be responsible for the accuracy of the information they declare.
Phase 1 of 2021:From 8:00 AM on January 17, 2021 to 5:00 PM on April 2, 2021.
Phase 2 of 2021: From 8:00 AM on April 26, 2021 to 5:00 PM on August 27, 2021.
For candidates applying for direct admission to master's and doctoral programs, in addition to online registration, they must submit the required documents as announced upon successful online registration within the specified timeframe.

2.2 Admission Schedule
2.2.1 Schedule for direct admission to master's programs:
Timeline for direct admission: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will conduct direct admission and announce the results to candidates no later than one week before the entrance exam, specifically:
- Phase 1: from April 5th, 2021 to April 9th, 2021.
- Phase 2: from August 30, 2021 to September 3, 2021.

3. Eligibility Criteria

4. Training duration
- Master's degree: The standard training duration is 2 years;
- PhD: The standard training time for those with a master's degree is 3 years, and for those with a bachelor's degree with a distinction or higher is 4 years.

5. Examination fees
5.1. For Master's degree admissions: 420,000 VND/candidate(Candidates exempted from the Foreign Language exam must submit)300,000 candidate), in there :
- Registration fee for the entrance exam/direct admission: 60,000 VND/candidate.
- Examination/application fee for direct admission: 360,000 VND/candidate(Candidates exempted from the Foreign Language exam: 240,000) candidate).
5.2. For doctoral training admissions: 260,000 VND/candidate(Master's degree exam)500,000 VND per candidate(exam for bachelor's degree), in which:
- Registration fee: 60,000 VND/candidate.
- Examination fee: 200,000 VND/candidate for master's degree candidates, 440,000 VND/candidate for bachelor's degree candidates..
