Attending the scholarship award ceremony, on behalf of the Toshiba Scholarship Foundation were Mr. Morino Takeshi - Technology Planning Specialist, Toshiba Corporation; Mr. Kazuo Kusakabe - Chief Representative of Toshiba Asia Pacific in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Keitaro Shigenaka - General Director of Toshiba Software Development Vietnam; and Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong Thanh - Planning Department, Toshiba Asia Pacific in Hanoi.
Representing Vietnam National University, Hanoi were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Huong, Head of the Political and Student Affairs Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, Deputy Head of the Political and Student Affairs Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, along with 15 postgraduate students and doctoral candidates with outstanding academic and research achievements.
At the meeting, postgraduate students and doctoral candidates presented and discussed the results of their research projects.

Student Dang Thu Hoa (Faculty of Literature)
Student Dang Thu Hoa (Faculty of Literature) presented a report titled "Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue: From Historical Figure to Literary Image." The author researched the process by which the historical figure Quang Trung-Nguyen Hue became a national hero, clarifying the factors that influenced and shaped the different assessments and interpretations of Nguyen Hue in Vietnamese literature. Through this research, the study contributes to a better understanding of Vietnamese religious beliefs and the interpretation of "historical facts" in fictional works.

Student Tran Linh Trang (Department of Philosophy)
Student Tran Linh Trang (Faculty of Philosophy) presented her research on "The Practice of the Rule of Law in the French Republic: Content and Reference Values for Building a Socialist Rule of Law State in Vietnam." The research clarifies the motivations and ideological foundations of the organization and operation of the rule of law state in France; analyzes the situation of the organization and operation of the state apparatus in France and compares it with Vietnam. Through this, the author points out the values and lessons for the process of building and perfecting the socialist rule of law state in Vietnam in the current period.


The Toshiba Scholarship Program was established between Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and Toshiba Corporation in 2005. Over the past 10 years, VNU and the Toshiba Scholarship Foundation have awarded 13 scholarships and scientific conference presentations, and 230 outstanding graduate students and researchers from VNU have received scholarships totaling approximately 20 million Japanese Yen, equivalent to about 4.3 billion VND.
