Promoting the establishment of the Lancang-Mekong Youth Exchange and Cooperation Center.

On April 9, 2019, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), along with representatives from the Training Department and the Cooperation and Development Department, met and worked with Dr. Chen Luyi (Chairman of Kingswell Group - China).

The meeting focused on the plan to establish the Lancang-Mekong Youth Exchange and Cooperation Center, aiming to promote cultural exchange among young people in the Mekong River coastal countries. The inauguration ceremony and signing of the cooperation agreement to establish the Center will be held at Fudan University, Shanghai, China on July 22, 2019. The ceremony will be attended by leaders from eight universities in East Asia, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Professor Pham Quang Minh, representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, was invited to participate in this event.

In addition, the 3rd Youth Innovation Training Camp 2019 will take place from July 20-28, 2019 at Qinghai University and Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Region, China. Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the student group Bui Thi Minh Thuy, Bui Nhat Linh, and Nguyen Thi Huong Giang (K60 - Faculty of International Studies) will register to participate in this training camp with the project "Platano Vietnam". This project aims to use banana leaf sheaths as a material to create products of high artistic value, promoting Vietnamese culture and contributing to reducing agricultural waste and protecting the environment. The project won a top prize in the "Youth Innovation in Governance and Development of the Mekong Region - YICMG" competition in 2019.

On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Pham Quang Minh welcomed the idea of ​​establishing the Lancang-Mekong Youth Exchange and Cooperation Center. The University expressed its support and readiness to become a partner of the universities in the Center. The Rector also expressed his gratitude to Kingswels Group for offering support to the startup project of the University's young students. This will be an opportunity for them to apply the knowledge they have learned in the classroom to practical activities.
